Being from Nevada reno spacificly it brings a lot of hope and shows a lot to the youth of the area like myself(I'm 16) that hard work takes you places its nice to see so many really young ball players actually want to be like the guys on Nevada instead of big 10 teams and he's one Hell of a guy met him after a game great guy and brought the city of reno together bottomed love you cap keep it big
I'm impressed by Colin's athleticism....the dude can sling a football even when throwing across his body being chased by a defender......he also has some great scrambling speed.....I am hoping Harbaugh can do great things with him.....
@hoseA6681 I explained it on our site but I don't consider that a huge negative and more was showing his interception in the game. Wasn't a perfect pass as it was still a little high but shouldn't have been a pick either and that was more bad luck.
People say that this guy throwing motion isn't that good but to tell you the truth it isn't that bad.this guy has great accuracy and arm strength.I mean look how Philip rivers throws the ball some people just throw different the important thing is if he completes his passes I'm excited he is with the 49ers.
I know this guy is going to be good.....look at 5:34.....This is exactly what a pro QB does! He scans the field for his receivers and still maintains a feel for the pass rush, when the Boise player was rushing him, he makes an escape by rolling away to his right shoulder (throwing arm) and away from the pass rusher, once his right shoulder is away from the defender, he uses his speed and scrambles away. VERY GOOD AWARENESS!! The more of this video I watch, the more excited I am over this pick!
Colin Kaepernick has the intangibles to be a good pro. I'm just worried about his adjustment to the pro style offense since he always lined up shotgun in the Pistol formation. He's tall, fast, has a powerful arm, and has good vision. He needs a year to sit out and watch Alex Smith so he can get used to the pace of the game. I like this pick a lot!!!
@lurchipoo Kaep has been playing under center his whole life. in an interview he said that playing the shotgun in nevada was a huge chan ge for him because he was used to playing under center. I highly doubt he'll have a hard time adjustying back to playing under center.
Biggest thing draft scouts/armchair experts are missing here; KAEP SHOWS NO FEAR IN STEPPING FORWARD INTO THE POCKET, or inches before the scrimmage line to throw. This is the shit which separates Aaron Rodgers' from Alex Smiths'.
@lol515to homie if he sucks you really don't know football. I've been playing my football my whole life and THIS dude is the truth. So hard for a defense to stop this it's not even funny.
@lol515to Okay he sucks because he is the first QB to pass for 10,000 yard and rush for 4000 and he was a second round pick. Normally people that suck dont get drafter that high and cant break records so yah your right... how about you do us all a favor and not be a dumb ass and dont comment shit like this when u have no proof to back it up. Yah he struggled his first 5 games but give him a year or two.
um a die hard 9er myself and at first i convinced that christan ponder would be the best fit for the 49ers in the 2nd round but colin has way more intangilbles and wayyy more upside, i wished the 8ers could have traded down but they were no offers i wanted us to get a to 5 CB and brookes reed whos like a clay mathews type player OLB but we added some needed depth in the draft but i hope we adress the secondary in FreeAgency cause mays, goldson, spencer, and clements are strugleing
@BalanceOfTheCards Not if you hold onto the ball longer then what you should. Both instances he had ample time to throw the ball away but wound up taking a sack when he could avoided both. A bit on the OL as in a perfect world he would have all day to throw the ball but on him as well for not getting the ball out quicker. Better than forcing a throw and leading to a pick but still not as positive as just throwing the ball away.
@BalanceOfTheCards that is true and again it isn't like he is going to be perfect. Those are just two negative situations where he underestimated the opposing rush and thought he could make something happen. It is nitpicking and think you have to include even if it isn't a big thing, which it isn't.
@BalanceOfTheCards Admittedly, I am a 9er fan (Him and Aldon Smith are the only 2010 guys I have produced videos on due to them being drafted). I don't think he is as explosive as Vick but he is also coming into a better situation then Vick did entering the league. He has one of the best QB minds in Harbaugh and although he is a project, his potential certainly has the capability of being brought out with Harbaugh. Will be interesting to see how he develops and I think Big Ben is a fair comp.

@BalanceOfTheCards not really 2 u but every1 check out vid at 11:11 the reciever gets in front of teamate with ball then gets fuckd up by the defender sum1 makes the funnyest sound. In the BC game the eagles d were tuff, it made nevada kinda scared.

His mechanics are fine. If you watch him on his sprint-outs, he sets his feet and shoulders very quickly before he releases the ball.
