  • I used to watch this show. Then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • i don't remember much about it, but i liked the episode where theo took on a mob guy who was out to get him.

  • There's a few episodes like that, but it might be "Over the Water". Did the episode start at a restaurant in New Jersey while Kojak was on a date? Was the "mob guy" a younger guy/the son of a mob boss? Did he put a hit out on Kojak due to the altercation @ the restaurant? If so, then it is "Over the Water" from Season 3, Episode 9. (air date 11/09/1975) It's a really good episode (a favorite). BTW, Hulu has it free along with 79 other Kojak episodes from seasons 1-3.

  • @gjc82071 yes. that is absolutely the episode. i think the mob guy insulted theo's girl, then called him 'baldy'. the guy's father, i remember was against the hit. not too many episodes stand out in my mind, for i was fairly young, but this one did. it may explain my later infatuation with mob movies...thanks for the info.

  • @1skullduggery "Baldy", haha, yep, that's definitely the episode. Actually, the mob guy was harassing a young female patron & Kojak said "why don't you leave her alone...", then there's an altercation....mob guy says "Nobody kicks me out of my own club, bla bla". I really love the episode/seen it several times. Actually, I just watched it (again, hehehe) last week. If you want to see again, you can watch it free/legal @ Hulu. "Over the Water" Season 3, Episode 9. Enjoy. :-)

  • @gjc82071 thanks; i might just do that, there, baretta....lol.

  • @1skullduggery Baretta, hahah. Good 1. BTW, unfortunately Hulu doesn't have any Baretta or Columbo episodes (I wish they did). They do have The Rockford Files though (& of course Kojak), The Fall Guy, The A-Team, The Greatest American Hero, The Incredible Hulk, Emergency!, Ironside, the list goes on & on. Have you ever checked out Hulu? It's pretty cool, especially if you like retro TV shows.

  • @gjc82071 i'll go there to check them out. love to see some of them rockford files episodes. part of the reason hbo initially picked up the sopranos was due to them being aware of david chases' work on that series.

  • @1skullduggery Huh. I didn't know that about David Chase. Cool. Well, have fun/enjoy. I will go now & watch another Kojak episode. :-)

  • Bin laden rest in peace.

  • Epic

  • kotjek live ever ,bin laden no

  • Who loves ya baby?

  • EVERY SUNDAY NIGHT IN PUERTO RICO BELONGED TO TELLY SAVALA'S KOJAK

  • The fucking venezuelan president Hugo Chávez looks like him right now ..lol

  • Jack Lord and Telly Savalas were the Coolest Cops Ever on TV!!!!!

  • @BBQFanNo1 You know what you get when you cross Jack Lord with Telly Savalas? About halfway.

  • offendor2 Kojak never wear a wig , he wear a hat but never a wig,i may be wrong to.

  • who loves ya baby my fave 70's cop show

  • oui le divin chauve

  • I didn't realize how tough Kojak was till I got older and listened to the dialog of the show. When I was a kid I used to ask my mom, why is he calling him Cracker?

  • there was kojak and there was the dad on "webster" but other than that have there been any other greek-descent leading men on a u.s. tv series?

  • @wallofvideo john stamos

  • Location...Location...Location...I didn't like Kojak because 80% of it was filmed in Hollywood studios....Streets of San Francisco and Hawaii 5-0 were way better shows because they were filmed entirely on location.

  • I'll bet the title graphics that turned from their bottom to face the viewer were pretty high tech for the day.

  • Telly Savalas, a man's man!

  • I saw two episodes of Kojak this year when they did a special airing of it on my local, independent TV station. This was my first time ever seeing this show... just awesome!

  • Det. Kojak is so cool

  • Great plots scripts acting and directing.

No need for gratuitous violence or sex to try and sell the show to the viewer

Hollywood needs to look back at the golden era of American tv and take notes

  • His most famous line: "Who loves ya, baby?" No one had more style than Telly!

  • Which famous guest star will Kojak shoot this week?

  • Back in the days they sure packed a lot of drama into a 60 minute show.. Looking back now those cop shows like Kojak and so on where like Mini movies.. real gritty and and the theme music used was fantastic... Todays youth is subject to crap and Brainless reality shows. Thank God for Satelite Tv but they should show these classic cop shows and dramas.. But Thanks to DVD and You Tube us Old Skoolers can relive those Glory Tv days

  • Yeap... those were the days man! Kojak! Boy! Was that a TV series, or what?

  • It's a longer, awesome story but In 1984 I gave Telly a ride to Del Mar where his horse was running. He WAS THE SHIT. I felt like I was riding with royalty.

  • Well said Barmtrail, 90% of tv now is total shit.

  • @thebellymob which 10% is great tv?

  • kojak the pimp dog

  • Telly Savalas was a badass.

  • I remember this shit too! Yeah, i do miss the '70's! Savalas was tight!

  • I REMEMBER THIS SERIES WHEN i WAS A KID BACK IN THE MID 1970S....

Sunday nights at 9 or 10 oclock. I love the original theme.

  • Kojak was a good show but the theme and cars weren't as good as Hawaii Five-O and some of the other shows.

  • These 70's cop shows were so good. The actors looked like real men and the scenery had that downtown industrial feel to it. So much better than the "male model" crap they show now.

  • WE WANT TO HAVE THE 80'S SERIES BACK !!!!!!!!

  • thanks to all this series I had the best childhood Bless the USA FOREVER GREETINGS FROM MEXICO

  • @betergigech Thank you. How kind of you. Many in the world today wish to see us damned.

  • like it very much, greetings from Croatia :))

  • Who loves ya, baby?

  • Has anyone except me noticed the total and complete crap that is on T.V. today? Everything is so fake and scripted. You have to feel sorry for the woman actors because unless they will get naked they cant work! Something is very wrong with the people who run these studios. Parents be aware of what your kids are watching. Total trash. Kojack sucked on a sucker, not some womans tits.

  • @barmtrail They had a story on 60 minutes that kojak was popular in soviet satelite countrys but they put it on tv on sunday morning when veiwers were supposed to go to church

  • @barmtrail ...WELL SAID cant find anything to add to that comment!

  • @barmtrail he sucked on plenty of tits ... just not on camera.

  • @barmtrail Exactly. It seems like all the women have fake boobs and blown up lips. Back then you had some great cop shows with memorable characters. Now it is all a bunch of pretty people looking at dead bodies and having sex with each other. Quite sad.

  • @barmtrail

    You're absolutely right

  • The "chauve" must go on ! lol

  • If there was a Kojak DVD/Blu-Ray boxed set collection available, I'd buy it in a second.

  • Can't someone attempt to put a strong cop or P.I. show likes this on the air again? Used to be there were twenty of these on the air in the same year. Now its all wimpy cops. Even Barnaby Jones could kick around any of the CSI crews and if he got tired just take out his piece and shoot 'em.

  • wheres the lolly pop? sheesh, cant have kojak without it

  • Wonderfullllllll!!!!!!!

  • When my Dad had cancer and was going thru chemo I called him Kojak to make him laugh. He loved it and so did his friends. Five years later, my dad is cancer free and still loves responing to kojak.

  • @southerncajuncharm cool story, well done!

  • @southerncajuncharm Awesome. Glad he's beaten it!

  • I used to think that finger tapping at 0:29 was Kojack's DICK ! what a sick little monkey I was !

  • Who loves ya, baby?

  • nyc , kojak ,nothing else to say.

  • Loved this show. When I was young i remember it was on Saturday nights at 9. On bbc1, match of the day after it.

His catch phrase who loves ya baby, all the kids at school would say it.

I always felt sorry for his sidekick stavros.

    Great actor.

  • damn i miss the 70's and 80's.this was when t.v. had a meaning.this was 1 of my favorite shows.whenever i see this show it takes me back to the 70's.my parents and all the kids would watch this show n loved it.police woman, barnaby jones, cannon, street of san francisco, hawaii 5.0,the rifle man, wonder woman,6 million dollar man, bonanza, gun smoke, good times, welcome back kotter, the white shadow, bionic woman, planet of the apes, three's company, ect. damn i miss that era.kids now are polluted by bullshit

  • when I talked to a police officer about "Kojac" he said that tv series was very close to a real life ,those moder police tv series are too much set up.

  • 1970s was the height of artistic talent for TV and Film in the US.

  • splatter your brains from here to white plains , classic!

  • FROM SPAIN GREAT TELLY SAVALAS

  • Crocker ! !

  • Intro bizarre and brilliant

  • Who loves ya baby!

  • ...baby!...

  • Cool show, just picked up the first season on dvd and now i found out there are no other seasons, someone needs to pick up the rights and sell the remaining seasons!Telly is just about the coolest guy ever, so cool even off his show, loved him on Battle of the Network stars!

  • @brittonsimon Sounds strange, where do you live? I live in Sweden and I've bought the first and second season DVD boxes at Media Markt, and there are more of them available, and not only the two first seasons.

  • The mean streets of New York, love it. Best movies that show the mean streets and the bad asses on the NYPD is the movies Death Wish,French Connection,Warriors,

  • This theme song fits Kojak better than the first theme, IMO. Can't get it out of my head!

  • I thought this was the original theme. I think the last season used a theme by John Cacavas, which I'd like to hear for comparison but wasn't as good from what I remember.

  • very good!!!!!

  • Does anyone have episodes directed by Spielberg?

  • MaFool!

  • Does anyone remember the episode of Kojak when at the very end, he walks into an apartment holding a cat and finds a drug dealer with tons of blow on a coffee table. Kojak looks at him and says, "meow, baby."

  • mr.telly savalas ,the most underrated actor ,he was truly the best!

  • The best cop show on tv during the 70s. after Columbo

    Brilliant plots

  • I love Telly Savales, great actor, excellent in every performance, thanks for putting it on. It brings back memories of 'Who loves ya baby?'

  • Don't forget those great old diner's club commercials.

  • I need a thick ear for mis-spelling his name, sorry Mr Savalas. In Australia we had a saying on the radio if there was a police radar trap on the road, "Look out for a Kojak with a Kodak"

  • When i think of kojak like right now, i always hear that loud voice saying CROCKER GIT IN HERE!!!! You just put a smile on my face . Thanks:):):):):):).

  • hey Nick...what's up bro?

  • You pheasant - @prilstrudel.

  • what do you mean by that?

  • Comment removed

  • Nicholas, your father was an awesome man. Thanks for posting this up.

  • I loved this show. Use to watch it all the time.

  • Here in Europe everyone loved it too, wish they repeaded it.

  • The Greatest Police Drama Of ALL Time! Hands Down! KOJAK! I wish They Could bring this back! Me And My Family stay watching this when I was small! NO Contest!

  • Loved Kojak...the series was a huge success here in Brazil...Kojak was(is) pure class!

  • Every episode at least once hed be like

    CROCKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

haha, great show though. At least the first couple years. Wish the rest would come out on dvd.

  • Crocker, Stavross get in her now. Kojak was the Master. Is there a memorial to this great actor in Manhattan South?

  • Only a few miss Rudy Guilianni, majority of us are glad that trashi is gone.. But we all love Kojak!

  • Manhattan South will never be the same!

  • With respect, i thought the series was set in Chicago?

  • KOJAK RULES

  • The man. KOJAK. lollipop popping.

  • Imagine Telly Savalas as Kojak and Clint Eastwood as Dirty Harry appearing together in a movie as cops tackling crime in their no nonsense street tough manner. They both were great together in Kelly's Heroes.

  • In elementary and junior high guys would shave their heads idolizing him and Isaac Hayes.

  • Neeee! LOL that was a badass thing to say :D

  • i love kojaaaaaaaaaaaaaak

  • Rightly said...

  • Having grown up in NY, this seemed like "a very NY Police show," compared to the others on TV.

  • it was Kojak who inspired Guilianni to clean up Times Square

  • I miss Rudy. I used to go to Greater NY all the time. Unfortunately, I hear Bloomberg is undoing some of the clean-up that Rudy did - hope it's not true. Don't like how Bloomberg wants to twist the mayoral term limits law. I wonder what Kojak would do?

  • fyi, there is a 3 min AUDIO version of this theme song, very jazzy

  • Gia sou Telly...

  • Who love's you baby!!!! This show was the bomb when i was i high school

Kid's had the tootsie pop in class etc,,,

    Great series!!!

  • Oh Lord, that made my eyes sting! Wow.

    LOL!

  • We loves ya Telly.....Kojak rocked.

  • Not one Cop show on tv today stand up to Kojak.

  • M Vice was great too! but that was a different decade

  • Okay, it's really not that serious. It's a TV show. Chill.

  • This was one of the best ever. It would probably beat any modern show if it ran today. We miss you Telly!

  • @coolmamac Telly was the man.

  • @coolmamac I couldn't agree with you more! One of the best police drama's of all time! Filmed entirely in New York City

  • @lvcarmel some shots are filmed in downtown L.A. I saw an episode this morning (on Retro T.V.) where you could clearly see the famous mid-century Googie coffee shop in the background. Great show all the same!

  • One of greatest tv show themes never created.

And very good titles, in Saul Bass film style.

  • I've got Kojak on DVD .

It sucks that they only released the first season on DVD.

  • Who loves ya, baby....

What a classic and What acting can't get any better than Telly met him and his brother George in London many, many moons ago and what down to earth people

Not like some of the actors now a days stuck up thier own A**

Of all places to meet him and his brother, a Fish stall in Pettiecoat Lane, both him and his brother gave me thier autograph and chatted to me and my sister for aorund 10 minutes and I could not beleave that no one else spotted them.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • Who love's you baby

  • Badasss Telly....aka Theo Kojak...

  • Better lollipops than cigars or cigarettes... the dentists can go whistle... Tel was the coolest, hardest, bestest, scrummiest of the lot

  • awsome show..i loved this as a kid and still love it now!

  • Telly Savalas was one damn fine actor! He's missed...as are so many of those classic actors from the 60's and 70's. There are no male heros anymore. Notice that? They bred it out of the next generation. Just a bunch of whiney fags and strong women. Bah! Where are the Clint Eastwoods, and Telly Savalas'!

  • true that!

  • @jgdesign They are a dying breed indeed. I love the old cop shows from the 60s through the 80s. Enough with the CSI junk.

  • i remember when they used to give this show on saturday afternoon on channel 5 in the 80's nothing but good ol'reruns at the time,my grandmother love this show with a passion she'd be glued to the T.V. one of the best shows they don't make them like they used to!

  • There was such good writing back then. Kojak was a great show.

  • Telly was off the hook and a told it like it was, no bs!!! Loved the theme and the show. I loved when he said "Crocker!!" They say dentists were pissed about him and the lollipops, but he was just so damn cool. RIP Telly.

  • Best haircut ever. So simple too. Just look around today, everybody has one. Telly has also been in some terrific films.

  • "Best haircut ever."

Montel Williams now carries the flag.

  • this was on at 9pm on a friday im sure just when i got in from scouts brings back memories

  • I loved it also. kin brilliant.

  • Big Joe from Kelly's Heroes, too. Brilliant!

  • im proud he was a greek!!!

    great man!!!

  • The best show ever on the box, loved Kojak and Stavros (scuse the spelling if it's wrong) they were my fav characters

  • I loved this show.

  • All I have to say is just what Kojak himself would say, Who loves ya Baby? That was a great cop show in it's day as well.

  • Kojak - a stark, violent show for stark, violent times. 5 stars!

  • Hi! I want to now what the name of the song are listening ferros wife lover when he was kill in the first part in the first season WEB OF DEATH thank you!

  • proboxer ?...i say the only slapping action you see is when you give your dick one ..

  • this guy is dead so show respect for a dead man ...what a brave guy you are disrespecting some dead guy...let him rest in peace...military eh?...were u a cook or some paper pushing moran...

  • your probably some wuss in his dads basement on the computer trying to act tough...if u want tough go in the military asshole...

  • aw man u aint right dog but this is funny as hell.

  • Wow...

    "FLashbackkk!!!"

    ~Thanks!!!

  • And who is Telly Savalas' godchild? Answer: Jennifer Aniston.

  • John Holmes' cock was once likened to Telly Savalas in a polo neck!!!!
