  • that opening lick is screaming hard bop man he was truly ahead of his time

  • yea this is Luis, but this is from swing era 30´s ... he has older dixie version from 20´s too with hot5 or (hot7)

  • That's not the big louis :) I know he owns the original but this versions isn't Louis playing, that's not his speed or his style ;)

but I love this version too :D ♪

  • @doomushroom Definitely right! NOT him. where's the shakes?

  • @doomushroom @jazzmac03

This is MOST DEFINITELY LOUIS ARMSTRONG!

That's him with the Luis Russell Orchestra; the clarinet soloist is Bingie Madison and Charlie Holmes taking the alto-sax solo before Louis comes in.

  • Thank you for putting this up; Louis Armstrong was The GREATEST!!!

  • Thankyou, phalenopsis1. Pops is Tops!

    Louis Armstrong And His Orchestra

January 12, 1938, Los Angeles, CA

Louis first recorded this tune in 1927.
