I saw this film with my guy friends TWICE. We loved it that much. It was pretty much everything you predicted. I thought Rain was amazing! Never a dull moment in this film. Really keeps your attention from beginning to end!

A film critic should be better educated. You mentioned total garbage ninja movies and if Ninja Assassins is anything like those movies, then I say its garbage too. A small clip from the movie The Last Samurai when ninjas appeared was the way the movie should have been made not like some comic book action hero movie. Even a TV series Shogun was 10 times better. Its a crying shame if film making has come to this. And its even more of a shame for film critics not to know any better.

The actor pctured above is named Rain and he is from Korea. He is doing this to gain a firm footing into the american market. he is not a "formal" actor. He was a singer before an actor. He is well known in korea for a drama called "Full House". One of his wishes for this movie was to get his own song that was a big hit in korea, "It's raining" by Bi (search it) to be the theme/preview song. But as you can see, it did't work out. Also he sucks at english so... expect deep accent. =)
Also there are alot of haters because of all the hate going around for Rain. It's called antifans. He was supposed to have a tour at NYC, CA, and Hawaii but he canceled at the last minute causing multiple law suits over this. So haters existing for Rain is expected. Either way the movie looks okay.
I hadn't even heard of this movie until this preview review but now I want to see it. Babylon 5 is my favorite sci-fi TV show of all time so that by itself is enough to get me to go. Then when you combine the people behind the Matrix and V for Vendetta its gold in my book.

I don't think this movie's going to be nearly as good as Batman Begin. The only thin I 'm afraid of is that it looks like they depend a little to much cgi.
Well, think about it. If you had to worry about the cgi taking over everything, Ninja Assassin has many scenes that look like they're real, maybe they are, or maybe they're CG, if that's the case, don't worry about it. CGI is perfectly okay with me if it's for backdrop, but if used throughout the film it has no loving heart to it. But just seeing the weapons being made for the action that's pretty okay with me, and the bazooka has to be real, those are real explosions.
..source of entertainment. You seen District 9? Fuckin' great movie. The CGI used in that was good for its feel of the atmosphere and the one thing you NEVER see much in the animation is how they give it character. You see the aliens' eyes? That's the stuff you respect if you can feel the character in the movie no matter what shape or form. That's the meaning, it's where you can relate and interact in someway with them.
Though with the CGI used in this for the weapons, it seems fine...
...that's part of the cool factor, but it will not be the pointer that'll limit the expense of character. I trust not just the MPC's reactions to it, unless he was able to illustrate it to be an original film. That's what I'm going to see it for, not the effects, just the story and character and how strong it is. Because I'm a whore to art, and I will not allow the film world to suffer by having itself being at the mercy of H-wood and or Story Corp., or both, and just being a piece-of-crap.

I have to say, I think you were VERY generous with this one. The whole movie seems clichéd. 'Really good ninja has to kill lesser ninjas and master ninja and save the ninja princess.' That's like the plot for at least 4 Ninja Gaidens, ain't it?
I mean, it definitely looks good compared to most movies and it's certainly worthy, but it doesn't need a midnight showing unless you're looking for a good bromance movie to sweat testosterone over in the morning.

The Matrix entered US cinema quietly?!?! I find that hard to believe since in the UK promotion for the movie was EVERYWHERE! (I was 12 and was sad I couldn't see it-was rated 15 in the UK)

However, after watching this, I'm a little more inclined to find out more about this movie, and perhaps see it. (Though I would lower my standards to a matinee.) See, this is exactly why I subscribe. =)

Yeah, that's true. Ninja were first and foremost stealth warriors who did a multitude of things for their masters. There's even evidence that generally, they didn't even wear anything different from a samurai in combat.
And I hope this film will be okay. The Wachowskis lost alot of my trust in them after truncation of V for Vendetta.

When he said "Ninja Assassin" the 13th time, it really made me laugh, Just the way it was placed and all. I wasn't quite sure about seeing this movie before, but now I'm pretty damn sure I'll be seeing this.

I could not help but laugh every time when you said NINJA ASSASSIN in the review it never got old, This does seam to be shown only at night when ever they do show trailers its at night but hardly shown thanks to 2012.

But seriously, this review just made my Vets. Day. Have you checked out anime like NGE of Azumanga Daioh? The former is more darker in tone and make you question all sorts of things, and the latter is just plain, well, funny.
JMS also wrote for "The Real Ghostbusters" animated series in the 1980's. And been writing for both Marvel and DC Comics in recent years on such titles as Amazing Spider-Man, Thor, and DC's The Brave and The Bold (not the cartoon).
lol, I kept wincing whenever you'd mention the potential for this movie......I enjoyed it, but only has a visualfeast.....

Respect for your opinion re:NA....regarding indie/foreign movies....I plan to eventually. Right now I'm working on the bigger releases since those are the ones most advertised and as a result the ones that need the most Movie Truth revelations. If there's Indie/Foreign movies that need attention/respect, I'll review those.

I hate to be the first to mention this, but Ninjas aren't just assassins. They were also sent out for sabotage, espionage or reconnaissance missions.
As for the movie... I don't think I'm gonna be watching it in the theaters... maybe on TV.

Yeah, that's true. Ninja were first and foremost stealth warriors who did a multitude of things for their masters. There's even evidence that generally, they didn't even wear anything different from a samurai in combat.
And I hope this film will be okay. The Wachowskis lost alot of my trust in them after truncation of V for Vendetta.

I could not help but laugh every time when you said NINJA ASSASSIN in the review it never got old, This does seam to be shown only at night when ever they do show trailers its at night but hardly shown thanks to 2012.
I am looking forward to this but I would love to hear your possible review of Blood The Last Vampire a live action movie based on the anime movie of the same name it is out on DVD but had a very limited theaters show it like 5 or 10, I would like to hear your thoughts on it

JMS also wrote for "The Real Ghostbusters" animated series in the 1980's. And been writing for both Marvel and DC Comics in recent years on such titles as Amazing Spider-Man, Thor, and DC's The Brave and The Bold (not the cartoon).
