I am going to have a Laminectomy soon to try and cure extreme pain I have had for many years. Is there any body who has had this surgery in Perth Australia and if so was it successful and who was the surgeon?
Sounds like your injury was much more severe, I just had a ruptured disk, sounds like you had maybe that and broken vertebrae, so treatment would be much different. But I do wish u the best!
JDP1633, thanks for your reply. I'm really happy that you had great, even if not full, recovery. I've always been slim and athletic but in 1996, I was injured horribly by my ex husband with alot of head injuries and L1 and L2 crushed vertabrae. Two years after that, I had a laminoscopy with fusion and my progress was rather slow and I was left with nerve damage to my right side of my body from about the hip down. After over ten years, I'm needing another surgery; that's why I was so curious.
Amazing video! Wonderful how you were able to see a video of your own surgery. How severe was your injury? What vertibrae were involved and how are you doing now after the surgery?
I couldn't walk more than 100yds w/o having to sit down because of pain. Herniation L5/S1. I am doing great, pain 99% gone. I can run, play golf and basketball again w/ no problems. Anyone out there w/ similar problems I can refer you to (in my opinion) one of the best Neurosurgeons in the country. Just send me a msg.
