It was like 12 or 13 years ago, when i first saw her in a music video, i didn't see the begining of the video so i missed all the information like the artist name and the name of the song she was singing, but i was mesmorized by her voice and she was puring her soul into that song. I logged on to Yahoo today and BAM there was her pic, i was like there she is finally i know her name, then i read the caption on the bottom of the pic saying she died, can you imagine my hurt? I am in shock to learn that Cesaria Evora has passed! It was until I went to college that I learned of the Cape Verdean culture and their music especially Cesaria Evora. And what a surprise to learn that "in 1997, [Haitian Artist Sweet Micky] released an album containing one of his most celebrated hits, [Pa Manyen Fanm Nan]. The song is an adaptation of "Angola".... first recorded by Cesária Évora, the legendary Cape Verdean singer." My condolences to the Cape Verdean culture and her fans! <3
