WHY BUY A NAKED BIKE YHEN TEST AND RATE THEM ROUND A TRACK "LIKE MOST PEOPLE RATE AND COMMENT THESE TYPE OF VIDEOS "! JUST KEEP OR BUY A SPORTS BIKE????????????
Out of all.I would have the V4 Aprillia for the road capable track bike here. For the superior road and every day livability with track and luggage capability the winner hands down was not tested here.It is still the Moto Morini Corsaro Veloce.
Shitty review. Not much in specifics, just "the Aprilia, amazing bike, blah blah blah, engine sounds amazing, so nice to ride, all the electronics, blah blah blah" ...as if they'd chosen the Aprilia in advance. Of course they would - Aprilia is launching the bike and doing a huge marketing campaign. Don't get me wrong, I plan to buy the Aprilia as soon as it's available and agree that it kicks ass over all those other bikes. But it'd be nice to have more technical feedback about the Aprilia.
Aprilia - Like dating a bucktoothed, crosseyed chick that sucks so good, you have to pull the bedsheets out of your arse-crack in the morning... The dilema.
@Avus95 you dont know what you're talking about... the Superduke R has nothing at all to do with dirt or rough roads, in fact, its extremely tightly sprung and its in every sense of the term an 'upright superbike'
The reason most reviewers dont pick it as a winner is simply because its too rough around the edges. To me this makes it an exciting bike, to most others who look for smoothness and forgiveness, they're best served by the other choices in the category.
I've been riding KTM's for years, buddy. The Superduke handles more like a large supermoto than a "upright superbike." And if you throw some offroad tires on it, it will handle fire roads and light offroading with ease. Hell, I've even seen a Yamaha R1 that did fine in the woods and trails with some minor mods.
Quote: "the Superduke R has nothing at all to do with dirt or rough roads"
Except for its entire lineage, and the fact that KTM has been building offroad bikes for years, and the fact that the motor is derived from a Dakar-racer?
I think it is you who doesn't know what they are talking about...
@Avus95 LOL you're CLUELESS man. I own an 08 Superduke R (and a Streetfighter S, along with 2 dirtbikes and a converted CRF supermoto). The KTM SDR has NOOOTHING to do with dirt performance and anybody who mentions it is a complete and utter retard.
Lineage??? Buddy, Lamborghini used to build farm equipment... that doesn't mean I can put a plough on a Gallardo and tend my fields with it!
I for one think this was a great review. Remember folks, all these bikes are fantastic. Each one has loads of character, huge power, aggresive handeling and styling to match. The olds boys at MCN are nit picking and only because they have to. Awesome video. Keep up the good work, MCN!!!
The MV has too much power ? .... Hang doesn't the Aprilia have more power?
Aprilia comfortable ? As long as your 5 foot 2 maybe, the thing is tiny.
Lots of electronic aids (Italian electronics = unreliable)
Come on guys stop being magpies and going for the newest thing, didn't you say something similar about the RSV4 about how good a road bike when that first came out and then changed your mind a couple of months later?
This is quite possibly the most shameful thing I've ever heard uttered by a motorcycling journalist, or anybody who calls themselves a motorcyclist for that matter. Seriously, I hope the others beat the crap out of you after hearing that :)
I don't get your reviews, or tests, videos whatever you may call it. Where did the touno take on anybody? I saw 2 clips of you guys doing wheelies and then having to listen to your talk. seriously wtf
Lookswise my winner would definitely be the Ducati Streetfighter. I actually think the Aprilia is the ugliest one out of those. The front of the bike just doesn't suit a naked. I would have liked to see the Z1000 in this test aswell by the way.
Your videos keep getting better and better, thanks for posting them. I really like the on-board video, it really gives you an idea what the bike must be like to ride. My favorite is when you all gather round and talk about the bikes. You guys are cool.
I bet the dealer who lent them that SuperDuke flinched a bit at 2:56 when good old Mr.Neeves smashed his helmet into the tank of that brand new bike! ;)
i would like to see bikes like the bmw K 1300 R in those group tests ..it made a good impression to me but there is just really few information about it around.
I can see a lack of really great supernakeds in this comparison. BMW K 1300 R, Suzuki B-King, new Kawasaki Z 1000, Benelli TNT 1130 Sport Evo... All of these bikes are great nakeds so it's pretty sad that they weren't considered for this comparison.
Is it just me or does the Aprilia look like an RSV4 that you've just crashed, and while you're waiting for the spare fairings you couldn't resist to take it out for one more spin?
@curvejaeger Yeah :\ But they did say the triumph was the cheapest and 2nd best not sure how much the aprillia is but its probally quite alot more than the triumph
A new bike always get the first place! But about a while there are other producers with new bikes and at that moment they say: the Tuono issn't the best. That's because a new bike gets all the attention and they won't believe the bad sides of new bikes so they have one choice: set a new bike at the first place. P.S. Tuono is a great bike!
Congratulations to Aprilia. Having spent some time around a RSV4-R, this bike is truly a different riding experience and the V60 Tuono I have is looking slightly less shiny now...
Nice to see MCN video in HD for a change.

KTM still wins in my book.
Screw all the fancy electronics. give me that big, brutish, Austrian V-twin and the dirtbike handlebars...
I'd like to see those boys at MCN try and take that Aprilia offroad through some dirt and rough-stuff! The superduke will eat it up and ask for more!

@Avus95 if you throw dirt tires on it it would handle exactly like any other supersport/superbike with dirt tires.... LIKE SHIT!!!
The WP suspension on this Superduke R is made for hard pavement pounding and racing. That's what the fucking bike is all about. You're an idiot.
