I live a couple miles from Parkersburg. Four of my friends were in the tornado. My friends stepbrother was in the grocery store hidden in a ice bin and so he survived. We helped out after the tornado. We could see it from our house. It was pretty freaky
The latter part of this video is Hazleton, Iowa, I was chasing that cell and caught part of the wedge on video when I was 2.5 miles south of Hazleton. Since this was a HP Supercell, I did not realize that a tornado came thru the south part of Hazleton and happened upon the damage a few minutes after the tornado had passed, which caused massive damage for about 8 miles.
Amazing and scary at the same time. I keep hearing how bad Iowa is having it right now. They don't really mention what parts. Are these storms and flooding hitting most of Iowa?
yes they are. I just heard that the city of Mason City can now begin to use the water for drinking, but now as the water recedes from this area, it is now affecting other parts. Interstate 380 will be closed in Cedar Rapids beginning at 6pm tonight due to the flooding and many other area bridges are closed as well anywhere from Cedar Rapids, Waterloo westard towards DesMoines, well into Southwestern Iowa. The flooding is record breaking all over Iowa. And has affected many many communities..
