You have a point it doesn't seem that they do much, but you have to remember that one of them is a nurse so she provides medical knowledge. One is a trainer so she could help in keeping them in tip top shape and some fighting skills. One is a marine biologist and while that doesn't seem to help in one episode she did make a net that caught a fish and fish is good protein. There is power in numbers, so they do provide some if not useful help. That's just what I think no one has to agree with me.

I think having the nurse around is pretty much the only female I would want around. The personal trainer teaches "nice" hand to hand fighting that is more like a sport than an actual combat art. Any man would kick her ass if he really was trying to kill her.

Also when its a survival situation you dont waste calories/time trying to stay in great shape. You have a lot to do just to survive, thats your exercise, and all calories go to supporting that. For self defense, use a gun!!!

i'm assuming you meant gasoline, but gasoline is a constant issue with them (the irony), so using it as a weapon, especially and expendable weapon is out of the options.

the idea of the claymore is a good idea, but he's going to need more than just those two ingredients for it. i personally prefer the flamethrower if i have some armour and a mobile carrier to come with it.

their aim in this particular experiment is to place a permanent defense or offense so it will scare off the marauders for good, but to surprise them and make them taunt you to reuse it later.

imagine someone rushed in with a flamethrower versus a nerf gun, i think you'll be scared shitless with the flamethrower more than the nerf gun. unless its a d-eagle, then it would be both.

They should build staff slings. That way they have a device that can throw small stones really far and fast. A simple device that is very effective and easy to build. I would also build a spike strip out of the nails and boards from the pallates and lay it along the entryway so if any mauraders try to bring their bikes into the compound, they will get flat tires right away.

if the marauders abandon the bike they could use its parts or even fix up the bike and add some large tanks so they could bring back water at a faster rate and with less energy, but the only problem would be the lack of gasoline
