@cratusg No man, this isn't perfection. Live and Studio are two different things but there are bands out there (As I Lay Dying & Killswitch Engage) who can actually play their music live. Don't get me wrong, I love Soilwork, but I can never see them live. They just use too much editing from the original song that they can't make up for it live.

Auto tune isn't a miracle one stop fix. It can't make shit sound like gold. I think in the studio after 30-100 vocal takes they get one great take then polish that. In the studio you have more control. On stage you only get one shot. Auto tune can't help you. If your off your fucked. Case in point. This band can offer the full package for this demographic. The upgrade would be that they would be on the main stage headlining rather than a tag-along sideshow.

You know its not the band that sucks. It's when the lead singer can't hold a single note. He is consistently off. It's a shame really, these guys give the best studio albums in the business. When I hear the band live, it's consistently shit vocals worse then me trying to sing along to it in the car.

What I mean by that is that they would be more marketable and more people would go because the performance sounds better than the album. Think dream theater - album vs live - both are equally balanced and impressive. Soilwork is my favourite band, the Panic Broadcast is the best album since Rust in Peace.

Just saw these guys last night... positively brutal. Death Angel blew them off the stage and should have been at the top of the bill, as was agreed with by many who were in attendance. The sound was horrible (odd because Death Angel sounded good from the same vantage point), & most of their tunes consisted mainly of the same note from song to song, only to a different beat. The drummer during his flurries would get out of sync with the rest of the band. I like metal, but this was brutal.

Vocal cords are organic not robotic; everything from air quality to the different types of food affect your voice.

It's the mic cutting out you morons, it's hardly got anything to do with his voice. He sounds just fine. The fact that it differs a bit from the studio sound is what is to expect, if you want playback then go listen to Katie Parry or something. The fact that the mic cuts out is unfortunate, but stuff like that happens cause at wacken you have no rehearsals.

his type of singing is especially difficult. He actually screams full voice, unlike most grunting voices. But this happenes to most singers, after beeing on tour for so many years your voice starts to give way. He does have some good days and bad days, but for me the music is so awsome I would definitly enjoy a show of theirs even if speed isnt "up to speed".

I once sang in a band and did scream at the top of my lungs and tried to reach high notes afterwards (and failed miserably, my voice sounded sort of like his in this video :p), I know that this is insanely hard but I also know there are guys who can do it and that there are technuiques for screaming which don't affect your singing as much as his screaming seem to do. I'm not saying he sucks, I'm just saying he could be better.

I saw Soilwork years ago with Hypocrisy and holy shit they suck live. Thankfully Hypocrisy came out to close the show and saved the night.
