Mosst people don't understand something about Jeff and his brilliance is that this was easy for him, to sing and emote/express himself this way simple.
I think listening to him live would have been almost uncomfortable because he is so unafraid to expose raw emotion and be vulnerable. One of his bandmates said something similar, that they sometimes wondered if he would go too far and fall off the tightrope he walked with his vocals. But he never did; he had control. Such an extraordinary artist.
love this version with the harmonica! it's great, changes the song. jeff looks a bit lost without his guitar, has to make up for it with the harmonica :P love this, his voice is brilliant

One of the best versions of Grace on youtube! First time I saw this on aol (2004-ish) I remember thinking something like "that guitarist has an uber-cool haircut. I bet he plays like a god". I was right.
I also remember being quite impressed about how fast he finished tuning and started playing. Seemed like Jeff was rushing him, but he started right on time.
My God he just shines when his focus is voice only! Although he does look a little bored at times. Regardless, with guitar or without what a blessing to us all.
I think his voice is better when he's playing guitar too. I mean this was an astounding 5 star performance but he seems to get lost in his music when he's playing guitar too.
@vjoshbv I hope the do make one. People might think it will be a bad idea, but not me. The only thing I'm worried about is if they make a bad movie. The sad thing is, if they make a bad movie, it will ruin jeff's reputation for ever. Thats how much impact it could have.
@vjoshbv Franco is somewhat too perfect looking, and doesn't have enough "inner demons" to put it that way. Christian Bale (or a younger, skinnier version of him) would be my choice if there was to be a Jeff-movie (which I think would be a bad idea anyway, but that's just my 0,2)
Nice Buckley collection, mate! I've been looking for the Roulette Club performance for years. Is there any place to download the complete show? Thanks! :)
@ajdukujac Music today is made of both horror and wonder, the latter group lesser know, as usual. The "music-today-not-like-they-used-to" cliché is only relatively true. just a coouple of years after Grace came up, Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys and similar rubbish topped charts, and of course there were people thinking that music is no longer etc...

This performance reminds me so much of Reeve Carney. Jeff even looks a LOT like him here.
The two of them even sound/sing a LOT alike. It doesn't surprise me at all that Reeve will be starring in an upcoming bio-pic.
Long live the memory of one of the true GREATS--probably the GREATEST of his generation--Jeff Buckley!!!
You are sooo missed!!!!!!
