Respected Mr Louis Reyes Rivera, I am humbled by the force of your cry, a cry, thank the Lord , much stronger than that of the bullet's. With infinite gratitude, from Italy, from the world...
This is one of the most moving poems I have ever heard. It is the only poem that has me fighting tears back throughout the entire poem From the first word to the last. Skillful and master poet!
Same. Ive watched this video so many times over the last few years, and I just can't get past how unbelievable he is at creating a scene and a feeling in the audience... the structure and passion in his rhymes, the repetition of selected words and phrases. Unreal
No it wasn't you morons. Now if you would read the comments that I may have been commenting on, since he is clearly not Asian, and there is nothing in this poem about Asians, you would see that what I said was completely valid because someone said he sounded wise like old Asian men. So thank you for correcting my ignorant comment. You people are all clearly much more intelligent than I. Now let's try to think a little before we try to rip someone's comment next time please. I'd appreciate it.
This is the tenth time I watch this video, yet it is still incredibly fresh and powerful. Each time I watch, there's something new I hear. I can't imagine more vivid way of describing the moment. Thank you very much for the upload.
this is indescribable.. such beautiful words. Well delivered. Every time i hear this I get goosebumps. It was horrible what happen to brother Malcolm. But this poem makes the events seem bitter sweet. this poem is just simply indescribable
I'm trippin rite now that shit was raw as fuck like i really dont know wat to do wit my self rite now that man is a genius .... a poetic genius damn.......
Fantastic. This had to be a hard poem to memorize because of the repetition. He did a splendid job. He raised his voice at the right times and surely the crowd felt the bullet cry.
Is there anyway I can get the words to this? A transcript or something? I'd just love to be able to have it to read, It's so brilliant. If not I think I'll just copy it down for myself. Thanks for uploading it :)
I hear this poem, and it hurts me because I think of all the racist comments I've read on youtube.
I find myself crying often at the state of the world and incidents like assassinations of great men are just another painful example. Hopefully, this might spark a change in at least a few people that hear these words.
This was one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite. To the person who couldn't understand why he repeated some stanzas like a song---that's called jazz poetry and is worth studying. As for the person who didn't know it was about Malcolm X, I'll just suggest that you study..... This was AMAZING.
maybe i'm the only person that didn't like it, nothing against malcom x or luis reyes rivera....it just seemed to drag on and he kept to reiterate the same point over and over again
I just finished "The Autobiography of Malcolm X", and this was a fitting tribute. If you haven't read it...get it and READ IT!!! This brought chills and a tear to the eye of this descendant of slave owners and Confederate soldiers. Keep the legacy of Malcolm X alive!!!
