I say! Just how much does Jeeves earn? He sells paintings left and right, gets profits from said paintings and generally spikes up enterprise all around him!
@Orlabobz The US had alcohol prohibition from 1920 until the early 30's. There was a political religious temperance movement in the country at the time that pressured lawmakers to pass the thing. All it did was drive the distribution of alcohol to organized crime (Al Capone and the Gangster era). At any rate, the law was extremely unpopular and unsuccessful. It was repealed during the Great Depression.
The American accents and mannerisms are horrid! I think this season is the worst in that regard somehow. I wonder how Laurie ended up with such a good one... maybe from observing what NOT to do!
Quite so, quite so. Dadlaniberlin, it's meant to evoke the swing-jazz sound of the 1930s, where this series is set. I think it fits the mood very nicely. Certainly one of the greatest theme-tunes ever composed!
exactly right old boy. 30s jazz-swing, i love the syncopated rythmn and in fact even the title credits look fantastic - somehow reminiscent of rennie makintosh

If florence is so smart, how come she doesn't get the "stilton" joke.. -.-'

isn't the lady who's playing florence the one who used to play madeleine bassett?
EarthlingSofia 2 years ago
she did indeed, young miss bassett appears to have more faces than a westminster politician
fauxsham 2 years ago 10
@fauxsham Lady Florence was played by somebody else earlier in the series too. Damn confusing all the actor/actress substitutions!

@josietrott to make it even more confusing, this actress used to play madeline in series one
