Thanks for sharing and there are a few different types of eco styler gel so are you saying none of them worked? I personally use both eco styler (pink gel) and Lock and Twist Gel by Olive Oil Root Stimulator which does NOT get as hard as Eco Styler. However I also use Oil, water and conditioner under my gel. @kgraves022 Hey Home Skillet! No, I never said another Eco Stylers dont work. This video is strickly about the olive oil and moroccan oil Eco Styker gels. Yes, I do exactly the same thing. I always apply my leave in conditioner, castor oil, and then my gel. =D

But anyhow, I am at a point in my natural hair journey where my washing, deep conditioning and detangling process has to change somewhat to avoid tangling. I totally agree! I told my friend who is relaxed but that I would prefer if my hair was a little more kinky. She was like u want "nappy" hair. I think nappy is derogatory and ppl think it's an ugly thing, but it's not. She does so many cute styles with her hair, styles that my hair just won't do!!!

My hair doesn't do twists outs. My hair gets really slick even with the lightest product and my twists aren't really puffy and cute like if I had a more kinky texture. (example of what I mean: Chary Jay from 160days2lose2)

My hair looks just like urs except I have a different texture on the top of head. The curl pattern is much looser and more wavy than curly. I achieve the finger coil look by just raking my fingers through each section. I do it several times until my hair look pretty much like urs.

@charro028 How cool! Yea I have S-paterns on top of my hair as well which show a lot more when I use my fingers to rack through my hair as you commented... I think I put a picture of that in my one year natural vid. I can also use the shinggling method that you are talking about as well.

Have you ever used the Tangle Teezer? I've thrown my Denman in the Cabinet of No Return since then. I looove it. It doesn't define/clump curls, however. Sorry for the random comment, lol.

Oh and a side note to my last comment. I added just a small amount of water to my hair on top of the conditioning shining gel and it added more waves to my when I brushed it. But, if you like it smooth (like for baby hairs), don't use water.

I gave up on the finger coils, and now I just do twists out each week, leave them in a few days and then take them out to style however

poor elasta QP gel didn't measure up! but the consistency makes me want to try it for a wash and go! hun, my shrinkage is insane too, like 75%!! :) those coils are insanely defined!! :)

I know you're not a product junky, but I would like to see what you think of the Elasta QP conditioning shining gel. I recently tried it. It's awesome!! It's more of an oil based gel than a water based gel. It holds and smoothes my hair a LOT better than the water based. If you try it, please do a review. Thanks!

YAY!!!!! "Afro with coils on the ends" LOL!!!! I like to use half inch rollers when I finger or two strand twist. You'll probably need 1 inch rollers. It stretches them and you get nice bump to them. If that made any sense, just the right curl without being too curly.
