Mel has a great voice, there's a bit of stigma surrounding her because she is a spice girl. Lets just say not all of them were super talented and they were very manufactured. Mel now makes real music that means something, it's not bubble-gum pop anymore. Her voice is very distictive and therefore doesn't appeal to everyone, either you love it or hate it......I LOVE IT. She will have a long term solo career but see will never be the chart topper. Shame.

great singers and great song writers are being ousted by horrible, vile teeny boppers like justin bieber, cher lloyd, to many to mention. This woman is naturally talented with an amazing voice, she sounds even better acoustically! Not many artists have that talent. She should have number 1 hits with great recordings like this. Her new album 'The Sea' is phenomenal.

But I agree with you on the other part, Mel should be as bright a star as her! Most music nowadays sucks so hard :-( all computerised and autotuned (and that INCLUDES most of what Lady GaGa does, sadly :-( she has the skills to make real music, but chooses not to, most of the time :-(
