Most turbos are of the journal bearing type, only a few use ball-bearings. All of the ball-bearing turbos on the market except the Aerocharger flood the bearings with engine oil. The Aerocharger uses a self-contained synthetic high speed turbine oil that is misted over the ball-bearing reducing the bearing drag to a fraction of the drag of conventional ball-bearings... hence no turbo lag, no coking, no coolant lines and hot shutdowns are not a problem.
Many things affect the life of the crankshaft. From what I have seen if you run 10psi of boost or less and stay under 6,200 rpm you dont see any problems. With that said our test mule is getting a makeover today and we will be increasing the boost above 10psi and turning the rev limiter up to 7K. Stay tuned as we develop our stage three kit that will include a billet crank and many other things. Brad
The Aerocharger® kit comes with a custom EPI clutch kit (weights, springs and belt). The kit was designed to handle the extra power. But dont do stupid things like holding the breaks on while giving it full throttle. This turbo make way too much power to get by with being dumb.
i drove one of these, they were awesome

I like how it says "turbo comes with ball bearings." All turbo's have ball bearings. They have to. Funny

Any idea on power relative to the stock 52hp? The companies brochure was rather vague in terms of what this unit actually gives you.
