They are not cheat code, bm511 used mhs to edit the memory and make the stars value relative to Mario's speed.

The number of sheets of the star acquisition is certainly debug mode for the speed confirmation of Mario.

For instance, it is counted as the number of sheets of the star acquisition responds to the passing speed of Mario when Mario does the movement operation.

why not just use the lives instead of the star count? it's not like anyone's going to die in a TAS, barring a freerun ending, and that way, it can be done in a WIP and not invalidate it for fucking the star count.

For some reason with the live count if you enter something greater that 128, like 130, the live count goes to 126, so I'm not sure if watching speeds over 100 with lives would be possible with it. Marios star count does instantly revert to hoowever many stars you have.
