Another fun thing: The price of technology is driven down due to innovations, the price of natural resources goes up due to scarcity. Now consider this; before we used oil as our main energy source, we used wood and coal. Both went almost instinct due to technological obsolescence. When solar panels and battery technology will become practical enough to power a 20K$ car over 500 miles between recharges, the middle-east will turn into a blighted area, just like Africa.
