Europe has always been jellous of Britain. Get out before those harlots stab you in the back with the final killing blow! Britain was once the incubator of liberty and freedom etc.. magna carta, John Locke......wake up Britain; prosperity and life do not await you in the company of Europe. The contentiant has always been a dark place of tyranny and oppression; Britain must continue to the light of Liberty!
I notice at times, some left wing thugs on the this DH website/channel. As usual, they post derogatory comments towards Mr. Hannan and sometimes they approach with two faced, sort of backhanded comments towards Mr. Hannon or towards conservatism. Please remember, leftwings are thugs, like to intimidate, like to control. They like to pollute any thing that is conservative becuase they like to intrude in the few places left that are not dominated by their garbage and manipulation tacticts.

Yeah, defend that London market that nearly destroyed the whole fucking world. You're no better than those birocratic wankers from the European commission, you serve to protect the high banking thieves
@abstractbard "that london market that nearly destroyed the whole fucking world"??? i dont even know where to start...
firstly- the london market (by which i assume your talking about the financial district more commonly known as "the city") didn't cause the global recession, in fact, no one financial district caused the recession, it was the inevitable outcome of a seamlessly flawed economic design.
@mdecourcywheeler Of course it didn't cause the recession single-handedly but it has largely contributed to it by it's utter lack of any regulations what so ever. How can you call them "city workers" as if they actually produce anything, the main thing that market does is trade debt all around and more debt they generate the higher their bonuses are. They are the enemy that is much more dangerous than this pathetic byrocrats from Brussels.
@abstractbard Do yourself a favor and read some of the lectures from austrian economic school. Banks have no interest in giving credit to people that can't pay it back (and that was one of the things that collapsed the house market in USA) unless someone, you know, government for example, guarantees those credits. When people fiddle with the market and try to arbitrarily steer it one way or another, then trouble comes.
@hagunadari I'm sorry I have to laugh at that "Banks have no interest in giving credit to people that can't pay it back". This is done not only on the level of individuals, they're doing it now with Greece. They are trying to pull them out of the crisis by puting more debt on Greek people, and don't think that IMF is something other than just a group of those same bankers with a different label attached.
@abstractbard secondly - "that London market" generates a vast amount of the UK's GDP and the tax revenue generated from city workers consists of over 40% of all money generated through income tax, not even mentioning how much they raise through the VAT of their expensive "luxury goods"
so before you get all bitter about politicians wanting to protect their largest income of money, remember who pays for your subsidies and services!
Great stuff by Dan Hannan, as ever - and proud to see him wearing his Freedom Association tie. If you share his views, why not join him and become a Member of The Freedom Association.
A vote for Dr. Paul is a vote for yourself. He wants to limit gov intrusiveness in our lives & allow US to make our own choices. Stop politicians and the elites from thinking that they are so smart that they know how to run our lives better than we do. He is one of the few politicians that will make difficult decisions, he will balance the budget by his 2nd year, while other politicians plan to balance the budget after their term
EU is a 100-year-out-of-date anachronism formed in the wake of WW2 which was itself only an aftershock of WW1 caused by maniacs in power as a result of WW1 and the Depression.I would argue that by 1945 under NATO and USA unmbrella much of the raison d'etre of 'ever closer union' was defunct.Free trade element of the EEC was a fine principle.'Ever Closer Union' was the aim which dared not speak its name until Maastricht. Look at where it has led.
McCain would've completely destroyed the republican party. However, this time around you have something better to look at: Romney. Not only would he carry McCain's torch, but he'll burn the white house down with it. Bush=Obama=Romney .... I'll vote for someone that stands for freedom and liberty even if that will mean that I have to write my vote in.

Departure, eh? I'm liking the sound of that. If you do, please do it before you get your own Lincoln as the head of Parliament. Don't wait like the Southern states did.
Thats right better leave and take care of the debt back home. Right now, that British.debt is growing violently. The Government forecasts it will soar to an eye-watering £1.1 trillion by 2011. To put that in perspective, the UK went bust in 1976 running a budget deficit of 6% of GDP. In 2010 that deficit is going to top 11%. Every household will pay £2,111 this year, just to cover the interest
I'd love to have Daniel Hannan here in the states to talk to our Congress and Senate about obeying the Constitution.
In fact, every member of our government, in order to be employed by us, should be required to read and recite the bill of rights, give a proper detailed explanation there of, and know till familiarized with every article & section.
@BigTex1454 Well at least the important bits, the bits about slavery be dammed but the bits about no war without 2/3rds of congress and they have no right to censor anything sure.
@noponat666 Yes but which president? President of the ECR? The European Council? The European Comission? There are so many presidents I can no longer keep up,
