I have had this on my 'favourites' for about 2 years - and it is the one of the most amazing guitar solos ever! I never comment on any vids. I grew up on Eric, if you know what I mean....x
I'd always wished Clapton would rediscover some of that fire that made his '65-'72 playing so electrifying and exciting. Who the fuck was I to doubt him? The solo in this is absolutely astounding. Clapton's still God man.

or it was like a star exploding in outer space, sending billions upon billions of grooving and flowing waves of guitar notes in all directions of the universe...
wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!! man... that was like........ that solo... it was like driving the speed limit on a city road that suddenly becomes a one way one lane race track and your car transformed into a supersonic speed machine that can break the sound barrier and soar into the sky because it has wings that expand once you hit that sound barrier speed...
he just made it flow, one of his best solos, makes you happy and glad to be alive, thank you Eric Clapton for so many good solos. Dedicate this one to my good soulmate Dr Bob in Birmingham England, who has been to see Clapton at the RAH.
@Soulshine59 If Clapton was the standard for all to reach or quit, I don't think there would be many guitar players around. Clapton and all the other truly great players can only motivate guitarists to push themselves to be the best they can be, no matter what that might be. There are times when I truly suck but I still pick up the guitar because I love it, and I love it because of people like EC!
@Tapiola2007 yeah i know what you mean man. i cant even begin to explain the importance of Eric Clapton to me especially early into playing guitar i learned a whole bunch of his songs and guitar licks when i started playing lead. after that was SRV and now Warren Haynes. and Derek Trucks now that i am learning Slide. i know in my heart that i will never be these players but i damn sure will learn as much from them as i can
@Soulshine59 EC was my first guitar influence and after all these years, having listened to and fallen in love with the playing and styles of countless other players, Clapton is still where it's at for me. Carlos Santana said that all players have to go through Clapton to find themselves. Although Carlos usually puts an overly deep meaning on just about everything he says, that comment really resonated with me. Keep on playing and keep on enjoying!
@Tapiola2007 . i love guitar and music more than anything. it really is the single most important thing in my life next to my family and friends. and i will always be inspired buy Clapton and Stevie and Hendrix. and i play as much as i do with carpel tunnel!
You know some of you are really young minded. Bob Marley's version will ALWAYS be the BEST version. Clapton is a GREAT musician and his TRIBUTE to Marley is good but nothing evokes emotion like Marley's version. Not opinion..truth. If you could ask Clapton he would tell you he would bow in respect to Marley as an inspiration
@Shininshit bob even pushed him to do it and funny enough eric wasn't so happy with it coz he thought it wouldn't make much success but in fact it was a number hit! haha and listening to this you can see why..
I'm kind of a yungun compared to most people who like Clapton and I'm not MUCH of a fan (that could change someday ;)).. but this performance is quite inspiring.. I love it.
