This is a fantastic video, its extremely hard to photograph something moving 60 plus mph. And it is fantastic subject material. How fast a human can go under his own power is a fundamental challenge, and the technologies developed to do much with small amounts of energy are vital. These guys are heros and you all should wake up to this fact.
that cant be extremely hard for the cyclist, cos the human body can only pedal so fast, so there must be absolutly gigantic gear ratios, like 1:1000+ or something
You may be able to spin your pedals faster, but there's no way you on an un-faired diamond-framed bike or variant, can match or even approach the speed of an equivalent rider in a streamliner! [fully enclosed recumbent bicycle]
Who says so? The laws of physics - aerodynamics and the limitations of the human body.
This video gives a great sense of how fast these bicycles are really going, and is fairly well editted, although the camera work is jerky at some points.
I'm just glad they didn't use the Bicycle song by Queen as the sound track.
woo in battle mountain, NV aye? middle of nowhere LoL

Difficult to get perspective of speed from 1000 feet. Would have preferred to see the footage taken from ground level. Average footage in this clip.
