  • Franz Ferdinand still surprise me!! This is so amazing!!

  • i love this song we even recited this in our school n the voice is wonderful!

  • It's a shame this was never used in the film. It would have vastly improved it.

  • I LOVE FRANZ FERDINAND AND ALICE IN WONDERLAND

  • hahahaha 666 like this video... coincidence? I don't think so :S

  • me da miedo =/, pero no puedo dejar de escucharla, es genial! :D

  • It makes me remember the old non-animated Alice in Wonderland with the brunette Alice. I love that one!!!

  • i would love to see them explore a sound like this on the next album

  • he has the most beautiful voice i`ve ever heard!!

  • I adore it :O

  • Can anyone post on youtube the syncope version ?

  • Most 'excellent' take on a most 'excellent' poem!!!

  • I absolutely love this song <3 ! And I need a version of this without the lyrics, can someone help me ? Or I need to learn how to play this either on the piano or the guitar. Maybe someone could do a tutorial ? will you, won't you, will you, won't you, won't you help me ? :))

  • Isn't the Lobster Quadrille a song in the original Alice stories? (: Franz did a great version, my Lord.

  • @Mckaylay513 yup...amazing!

  • ♥American McGee's Alice♥

This song will definitally fit that style.

  • His voice in this song reminds me of a sexy mysterious vampire :)

  • wow, such deep and sexy voise. love you alex

  • Idk why but this version is too creepy, its a good song but he makes it seem dark. The original is better, but the video is cool and the twist on the song isnt really bad.

  • @vampressdark12 Original? There's no original, this song came right from the original book by Lewis Carrol. There were a few versions created before this one, right. But none of them qualifies as "Original"

  • Alex Kapranos ♥

    Franz is awesome.

  • I really wish I could sing like this this well.

  • Raw Hide much?

  • i like the other one better...

  • love this song its fuckn cool

  • I really wanted to see the movie. :/

Well I still love the playlist

  • I would love Project 86 to make a cover of this song. I've never listened to Franz Ferdinand but I really love their rendition of this song.

  • Read Alice on Top of the World (a brand-new story about Alice) - it's awesome! So says the crazymad writer of children's stories crazymadwriterdotcom

  • we sang this song for alll city luv it!!!

  • i sing this song in all city

  • @3sistaz4eva i sang it too but it was cheerful. i like this one better the cheerful one is wierd

  • 11 out of 13,000 + viewers could not, would not, could not tell the difference between a mock turtle and mock turtle soup.

  • Not nearly as good as Gene Wilder from the 1999 Alice in wonderland (Best version to date btw) but not bad at all :U

  • franz. <3

  • with ever song of theirs I listen to I feel like my soul is opened a bit deeper into a mysterious darkness

  • so... dark...

  • I rather the 1999 version when Alice sings it better.

  • i think at my next party we'll try this dance

  • this song was in the 1999 movie with tina majorino

  • Really like this song. Love the books. Really didn't like this movie adaptation.

  • So freaky!

  • this song sounds all creepy and fantastic... it's creeptastic!! i love it when his voice goes really low. i love bass. :)

  • @spunkangel89 OMG! i love that too! Love Alex's voice, it's so...elegant :D

  • Haha...this song is VERY sexy :D

  • Well epic fail at the lyric timing...but the song, izz very interesting and wonderful.

  • @HannahBreanne

The song is described in the book as being very slow

  • this song shouldve been in the ending credits in my opinion.

  • I never saw/read anything 'Alice In Wonderland' Now I want the book and to watch both movies knowing Franz somehow took interest in it. xD

  • I love this song!

  • It's a poem it's in the book, lyrics are word for word the poem. I love it!

  • I haven't seen the movie, but I kind of want to now, knowing franz ferdinand took a part in it.

  • @eclipse561 Don't it would be a total disappointment, the 3D hurt my eyes :( and I've ate ice with more plot depth than TB's Alice. The charaters spend like half the movie debating if they got the right Alice or not, and I vote not 'cause while this Alice is good for her role, she's hardly got any lines :(

  • heyyy they sang this song in the old alice in wonderland... XD im really slow..

  • ima put the lyrics on here since they're time wrong up there will you walk a little faster? said a whiting to a snail theres a porpoise close behind us treading on my tail see how eagerly the lobsters and the turtles all advance. they are waiting on the shingle- will you come and join the dance? will you , wont you, will you, wont you will you join the dance? will you, wont you, will you, wont you, wont you join the dance?
  • Perfect song for a perfect story !

  • Fantastici cm sempre!!! I Franz Ferdinand sono troppo forti....li adoro!

    Alex Kapranos è unico!!!

  • This song is good! Pathetically enough, I haven't heared of this song until I took a test for English online, and it had this 'poem' and it was annoying the crap out of me, so I searched it, and found out it was from Alice's adventure in wonderland =.=. Also, I really want to see this movie, and I"ll have to get the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack -after I get a game I've been wanting >.>-

  • This song was done really well! This is awesome!!

  • Cool song!

  • Comment removed

  • i know other version of this songs is girl version very cute

  • Most of the songs from the soundtrack aren't used in the movie!!! 0:

  • Creepy song but cool at the same time... But isn't that the whole point of the movie and all of Tim Burton's stuff? It rocks to me but creeps all of my friends... *sniff* Am I "creepy because I like Tim Burton"?

  • wow. i love it. ;)

  • the grim take on the poem is so fitting to the mood of the movie. coolness.

  • i like the 1999 alice and wonderland lopster quadrille better , i love tht movie ...i think the new one will be gewd ^ ^

  • @ShawtiiD33 new 1 is horrible

  • I'm searching for this song, used in the movie, it's... Yeah, well, not from a band I think, made for this movie and it's just.. Hm, in the scene that Alice follows the Rabbit you hear it. Does anyone know what song it is and where I can find it?

    xxx

  • @ErcalasCyane Its from the book I also know it's in the 1999 version of Alice in Wonderland otherwise I don't know of anywhere.

  • @Towandafy I think Caroll has re-written a traditional victorian poem/rhyme. All of the other poems in the book are done so, so I'm guessing this is most likely the answer :P

  • funny song, and alex´s voice fits into this film :D good choice Tim :D

  • this song is AMAZING

I didnt like it at first, but now I'm addicted.

  • I have to sing this for the alice in wonderland performance that im in!

  • This song and Alex's voice fits movie so well!

  • @BroandhisSis ubnhbvue4 i know. its perfect

  • Wow,Alex's voice is really spooky...

  • Oh, how I love this.XD

  • ♥FF

  • @TheEvilYoshiKiller It's not a movie inspired song, it was actually written by Lewis Carroll in the original Alice in Wonderland book, and appearted in the 1999 version of the movie, sung by Gene Wilder. Its not written by Franz Ferdinad.

  • Best song on that album - and lifted directly from the novel. I'm becoming dangerously obsessed with this song...

  • @GayGeisha So I'm not the only obsessed with this song n_n

  • the chorus is the song Alice sang in another alice in wonderland movie and the book of course. I love it :)

  • My mom told me the other day that she couldn't sleep 'cause I was mumbling this song while I was sleeping... creepie... But I really loved this song sinse I've red the book, and this is exactly how I pictured it.

  • @Lara2475 still doesnt explain why u were sleeping beside ur mom

  • @MatroFilms lol I was not. My room is right next to hers. (what makes it weirder 'cause it means I must have been screaming or something)

  • @Lara2475 you're being troll bait right now Lol.

  • @ArtisticChris lol, yeah, I guess I should stop the comments for a while ;P

  • <3<3<3<3<3<3<3 FF for making this song! I love the way they set the mood and I always imagined the Mock Turtle as a brooding Bass singer XD!

  • Such a shame!!!! Why can't we hear it in theaters??? This is amazing!!!

  • the really BEST and most crazy (in a good way :D) song of the album!!

  • i love this song i just got done reading this book

  • Absolutely amazing song, I had no idea that it was for the film xD

I thought that FF did the song inspired by the book.

Anyway, THIS is how I imagined the Turtle's voice and the atmosphere of the scene.

    ~HomicidalPixie

  • For some reason, his voice reminds me of Alan Rickman :)

  • The subtitles are off timing

  • @krapivnik oops my bad. didn't realized the subtitles weren't for the song.

    the song is brilliant.

  • I love how this was sung! It sounds like the Mock turtle from the book is singing. :)

  • Mirá uncachodecacha y comentá, votá. Ahora también uncachodecacha en Twitter y en Facebook. ¿Qué esperas para meterte en cachos de la vida de esta chica?. Que tengas un buen día. ;).

  • Really cool song! Much better than the other songs on the Alice soundtrack :)

  • loved the song *--*

  • LOBSTERS :D Sorry lol

  • Perfect song!! <3

  • I feel Tom Waits there

  • @thomasistheshiz Oh, I see.

  • But in the book it was described as being sung 'slowly and sadly'. Why'd you imagine it peppy?

  • @VERYWEIRDPERSONYAY its barely peppy

  • @freaker000000001 I... know? I was asking why they imagined it peppy...

  • @VERYWEIRDPERSONYAY What I mean is that the FF version is slow and sad

  • Franz is so good that even Disney songs sound amazing

  • @ACanette As far as I know that song belonged to Franz Ferdinand, but they never used it (until now)

  • @nurikoinsane No, this is an Alice in Wonderland original. I believe that it is the Mock Turtles song.

  • his voice wouldve been perfect for ches

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! This is Franz's best song eva!!!

  • i love it.. makes me feel kinda creeped out.. AWESOME yeah scaring myself is a good thing to me :)

  • i loved this movie!! im gonna buy it if it comes out on DVD!! the funniest part was when mad hatter was dancing!!

  • AH! this was in the book >:3

  • this is very catchy..

  • The song is perfect and adapt to the context of the movie. Perfect

  • love it !!!

  • Kapranos voice is mesmerizing...

  • this song iread it in the book!!! ilike how they put it its awesome!!

  • That was awesome! They should have made it fit either in the movie or really early in the credits. The Halmark version was a childhood favorite of mine for this song. It's cool they did the entire song. :)

  • Was this song in the movie? If so which scene?

  • @ThisIsWhereYouBelong thats a good question, because i saw track list to this movie and i dont remember single song from it playing in the movie actually... :-/

  • This is SO hypnotic º_º

    I like it :)

  • the best in thje whole soundtrak, :D

  • this song is freakin amazin.

  • i love franz ferdinand and i love alice in wonderland, and wasn't sure two minutes ago how they would fit together. now i am sure, they fit together perfectly. this song is amazing, alex's voice and the whole song is just like the mood in the movie. unbelievable.

went to watch it friday which was the premiere here, and now i'm going on wednesday again. dunno why i told you that, guess i've gone a little, how would i say it.. like a hatter, perhaps.

  • creepy good or creepy bad?

  • @Esperanza243

creepy bad AND creepy good. Lol.

  • Alex's voice, the music and Tim Burton's style are SO alike in the song. They are just SO great, yesterday I went to the concert (I'm from Argentina). I had such a blast. Absolutely amazing.

  • Ah, I remember the mock turtle and the gryphon doing this dance and singing the song in the book. He fit the words to the music almost just as I imagined them.

  • Omg this song is awesome. My friend JUST introduced me to Fran Ferdinand, but I already think they're amazing and this song is perfect. I just love how slow and repetitive it is. Amazing. Love love love LOVE it. :)

  • this song should've, could've, should've, could've, should've been the main theme. ^_^

  • @haohmwhat about her name is alice??? it was also a good song...aru77

  • @haohmaru77 Epic comment XD

  • this song fits the movie more than the other almost alice songs for sure

  • @laughmyselftosleep94 That's because it was actually in the book, word for word.

  • @laughmyselftosleep94 That's cause it's the poem from the first book :)

  • agreed, it is the only good song on the soundtrack, and the only one that fits the movie.

everyone else just did something that sounds like their usual stuff.

  • Franz did an awesome job with this song. It's so twisted and loony with that voice.

  • This is the only good song on the entire soundtrack, that actually FITS the movie. x_x;

Love Franz Ferdinand and this song. <3

  • i havent yet heard the soundtrack entirely but i feel like i'll agree with you =/

  • Why The Fuck Didnt Burton Put this at the Credits instead of the shitty Talentless Whore

  • Whoa.

    This is fricken awesome :O

  • perfection

  • wondeful song i love it but it doesnt really sound like alex is singing it..........but i dont care i love it

    franz ferdinand is wonderful

  • i sang this song for voices of the future....but its alot faster and happier....i likr this version too tho

  • This is definitely the only song off the soundtrack that actualy fits alice in wonderland 5 stars...wolfmother gets close but ruins it by being too exessive, and the rest of the songs are shameful. Lewis Caroll would turn in his grave if he knew of the prepostrous things being distorted off of his work.

  • I agree

  • the song is sooo great,I love it !!

  • i'm agree with you! is my favorite part too <3

  • I just don't think his voice can be scary, which it is trying to do in this song

  • @pbturkey2 hes not trying. hes doing it .

  • He's not trying.

  • I fuckin' love Alex's voice. God damn, this is great.

  • This makes me look forward to the movie even more.

  • this was also in a old episode of the batman animated series where the mad hatter got deaded by " alice " and gets arrested and he sings this song while they cuff him or something

  • The episode is "Mad as a Hatter" and it's on you-tube. The song appears twice in the episode but with no melody.

  • personally I don't like the song, but go FF!

  • this song is from the original book
