i'm with the bulk of you. this band should have been massive. i blame the labels they were on for not promoting them at all. i got the rare chance of seeing them live in 2000 supporting avantgardedog and opening for Queens of the Stone Age.
I know the lyrics are posted but the beginning of the chorus don't sound like he's saying "One step away." It sounds like he's saying "I bear the way." Does anyone else hear that? also, eleven=awesome
wow! this band is pretty fucken good, I just stumbled across this looking for interviews with Jag tanna to find out when i mother earth is getting back together. But yeah theyre cool
after seeing them opening for soundgarden in paris 96 i went to london in order to buy all their cds which can't be found in france at that time. they were fantastic live. and also with cornell euphoria morning best solo album ever !!!
ya i saw them in cleveland at the nautica stage ,ONE HELL OF AN UNDER-RATED BAND THEY WERE ONE OF THE BEST BANDS OUT THERE AND GOT NO CREDIT ! R.I.P. NATASHA YOU WILL BE GREATLY MISSED !!!!!!!
I saw these guys when they opened for Soundgarden back in 92 or 93. They were absolutely incredible live and I was both shocked and saddened to hear that Natasha had passed away. That's a loss for music lovers and the music community at large, not to mention her partner, Alain. Thanks for posting this.
This ought to be performed at her memorial. Look at the lyrics; so poignant: A sparrow falling from the sky It's wing is torn away by the wind A misty shape is rising in the dunes My life is etched into the sand A door has opened out of my world Shedding my skin I step inside The light is deeper than the ocean Through the sound my eyes begin to smile One step away and my plane is on fire, fire I crash today and my spirit is higher, higher Oh Yeah
:( She is one of my favorite all time female singers.
My heart is broken right now. Anyone who has not heard this woman sing out there, make sure you do. She is brilliant and talented. My heart goes out to Alain (her husband). Rest in peace Natasha.
I feel like "orejep" here. Till I read a post on the Steve Hoffman Mujsic Forums, I was not really aware..they WERE on Letterman, and were that famous? Can anyone tell me who they wer (history, movie sountracks, etc.) I don't seem familiar with them.
The albums is "Eleven" and yes, Reach Out as well as many other excellent songs are on it. I have a rare copy and have been enjoying it for well over a decade now. I also had the rare pleasure of seeing them back in 93 with Soundgarden. Wonderful show.
Love this song! Never saw the video, so thanks for posting! I just found the hottest friggin pic of Natasha on the elevenworld site...good god, she's still smoking.
Great band totally missed it during the nineties. I first heard of them when they played on chris cornells solo cd. Were they well known in the U.S.? because I never saw anything of them in Holland (Europe)
They had one hit in the US. Reach out got airplay, but the grunge bands of that era got all the airplay and fame. In another time, they would have blown up. Still one of my favs of all time, with or without the fame.

Absolutely amazing band, the self titled album is a must-listen.
Also Alain Johannes is releasing his solo debut thru Ipecac. This should be interesting...

I like the tone of that guitar, raw, dirty, and powerful, bands nowadays seem to just use generic heavy electronic distortions

Verse 2:
I see the view from every angle
A million faces turned into one
A web attaching every living thing
A tunnel leading me to the sun
But something pulls me back to my house
I want to stay but fate denies
My body's closing in around me
Through the sound my eyes begin to cry
