You're not too bright, are you? Have you ever heard of Konami? They have a little division called Bemani? They came up with the idea first, for DDR, Beatmania, Guitarmania, etc. Guitar Hero came out waaaaaay after the fact, and those original rhythm games and a lot more genres.

It's not suppose to be Guitar Hero or Rock Band! Just don't think theyre are only these two games in the rythme&music genre. Guitar Gero existed in Japan since early 2000 under the name of Guitar Freaks, so we american really invented nothing but explore, and that's an interesting way. Maybe after a few songs playing I'll be bored but all the cover in different style look interesting. They try something new, not like GH. I still enjoy GH but I found it stupid to think it's THE only thing.

it's a combination of the different parts. perhaps it's just an arbitrary assignment of beats.  or maybe this is just gameplay on normal mode and the rhythm will be more apparent in expert (or whatever they call it) mode.
