  • So funny, sounds like 4 people in the audience

  • England r the best quizzers in the world

  • They should take Challange TV off the subscription channels and make a free channel :D

  • That theme tune is epic, the best of any game show of all time in my opinion and Henry Kelly was great, underrated as a present :).

  • they all went for it at the first question.

  • The problem with GfG now is that its exclusively British, it's not as much a competition anymore than a cheap way to get money, and there's an obsession with numerous phone-ins. Personally I think we should use the same format as the French, where they';ve had high ratings for it for 20 years.

  • love the tissue paper hanging behind the contestants

  • How scotish does the Scot look - I bet you he was wearing a kilt!

  • The Henry Kelly classic entrance. Straight on - looks like he is going to walk off - no! the quick turn - the bow - walk towards audience. Textbook.

  • hooray England made it right at the end :)

  • Classic show and nice quality, good job

  • I remember being off school with flu and I watched this, the theme tune rocks!

  • i know what you mean, even tho i used to be in primary school i used to love this show, and i remember how i felt when i hurd the theme tune, still cant believe its hans zimmer that did the theme, but boy what a theme to do, but the five renewel of the show is so tacky and nothing like it used to be and john suchette cant present the show, bring back the origanal format and henry kelly. 5/5 for this vid tho brings back some happy memories

  • With the olympics coming up soon, this would be the perfect oppotunity to bring Going for Gold back!!! C'mon BBC get a move on!!!!

  • I loved this show but found it was outrageously unfair on those not from the U.K. Not only did we conveniently split our country up into four, but we expected them to speak our language! (I realise that this may not be a popular comment!)

  • I agree with you totally. My most vivid memory is of the round where one contestant 'loses control of the game' to the other, who then gets the benefit of extra time. I pitied the poor things who seemingly failed to take this on board and kept depressing their plunger, despite the fact it would have no effect !!

    Very watchable show though.

  • Hans is epic

  • Have you contacted challenge tv? If you have, then what did they say?

  • Henry Kelly is a Legend. End of story.

  • Don't you have clips of Going for gold from the later series?

  • no sorry......they dont seem to show the later series....i'll contact challenge tv

  • Did you contact challenge tv in the end?

  • i did and they said that they didnt plan on showing anymore "going for gold" episodes but i'll try and persude them....lol

  • omg the memories!! I dunno when this clip was from but I remember I was very young when I watched Going For Gold (maybe 4 or 5 years old) I freaking loved it! BBC should re-do it or repeat it replace Neighbours when it moves to CH5. Whatever happened to Henry Kelly? : (

  • Do you have any more of these especially the first series which was the better. I used to be "ill" myself twice a week and catch the show which in the UK was broadcast in the morning and afternoon. :)

  • i though this was the first series. lol. i dont have anymore going for gold videos for now.... sorry

  • Shame. This was the first series. It was before Daphne Hudson now known as Fowler from Eggheads won the trip to olympics.

I checked with Challenge and they're not planning to show it again soon :(

It was my favourite quiz show

  • Good to see this again! Got any more episodes?

  • lol I remember this but always though it was crap

  • I also said that i was ill so i did not have to go to school so i could watch this with a cup of hot chocolate!!!

  • Can I see the grand final please.

  • yeah that UK hey!? :-)

  • Notice how the Uk "conveniently" played the "one realm of races four" card.

  • I always was severely ill when it was the finals.

  • I used to be "ill" so I didn't have to go to school. I watched this instead

  • I have actually seen this one on Challenge TV. Well not all of it, but I used to watch this on BBC1.
