You've made a great connection there. Elvis's version is much closer to Jackie Wilson's (with the Dominoes) than Tony Bennett. Note how he sings upwards on the parts like "I know I'd go from rags to riches", and "must I forever stay a begger". That's how Jackie sang it, while Tony sings it differently. I like Tony's version a lot, but I like Elvis's and Jackie's even better.
