It's hard to imagine an empire that was the size of Kosovo, that would be an empire with the strength of a city state.

Every time Illyria was attacked it lost and was then incorporated into the victors empire i.e the Macedonian, Roman/Byzantine. When the Slavs invaded the Byzantine empire, they were given land on what you claim is Illyrian land, therefore the Slavs as invaders were more important to the Byzantines then the nativ Illyrians.

Albanians are a descendants of the illyrians but due to genetic mixing, todays Albanians are a mix of Slavic and Illyrian blood, although the genetic make up is more Illyrian then Slavic.

The Ilyrians were driven into the mountains of present day Albania, by the Slavs.

So in short, the Illyrians were not fighters, and as soon as a new group of people settled in their lands, they gave up and moved into mountains.

Slavs were not made by Russians on the contrary Russians originated from Slavs, just like all other Slavic people. The term Russian is younger the the term Slav or Serbian, todays Russia was part of Kievan-Rus, which was a Slavic kingdom that evolved into todays Russia and Ukraine. True Albanians are not very culturally alike to Slavs, but Slavs and modern Albanians share some genetics, due to intermixing. Would you say that Albanians are Turks because they share some similar cultural aspects?

If this were true then why did so many Illyrians degrade to tribal society when they were forced into the mountains, and why did they not gain a nation before 1912?
