  • i see pak windha

  • This video is great , thx for sharing it to us !! cant wait for my holiday to BALI !!! ;)

    from AUS

  • we're located here in D.C. we've been here since 1989. My older brother teaches in sheperd college in west virginia part time. So for now when the students perform from what they learned from my brother, we would help and dance. But here and there we do perform but just the dancing part the gamelan not so often as before.

  • Your welcome, my family has a gamelan here in the U.S. and I been playing since I was 6, thats how I know.

  • Where is your family gamelan? It would be interesting to see another gamelan concert someday. I didn't kwow it existed here in the U.S.

  • @Filbert101

I liked your ice video! Did you know there's a city in Canada (White Rock) that NORMALLY enjoys milder Januarys than Memphis? In fact, it's MUCH milder than Memphis after accounting for wind chill. Surpised?

  • I was born in bali but was raised here in the U.S. since I was 6yrs old. I just recently visited bali last march, its been over 17 yrs I haven't visited Bali, I miss it dearly. But glad you bought 3 mask, because you know when buying something like that over here especially getting it imported cost loads of money and are very expensive!!! I also brought a couple of sculptures but they used to belong to my parents, so that was nice.

  • Just to let you know, when hitting 1 of the melody (1 symbol), you damp afterwards (stop with the other hand) after 1 hit and so on. So it does not echo, so it doesn't sound terrible. The lady thats selling the mask, yes they do sometimes try to con you, well because the economy isn't good over there nowadays but for $20.00 isn't bad because those are man made and takes alot of dedication and long days just to get 1 done. It was a nice mask, did you buy it?

  • Yes, I bought 3 of the masks! Are you from Bali? It was a magical place, and my favorite memories are when I was touring through the country meeting regular people, away from the tourists. Thanks for the tip on how to correctly strike the instrument!
