I love Boosh, but I have to say I find The IT Crowd, Darkplace and man to man better. The only reason that the Boosh gets better press is that Noel Fielding is in it, and I bet loads of teenage girls watch it purley for that. Ayoade and Holness are by far funnier though!
I'm a king which your mother don't deserve my cum. My opinions and beliefs are the most important one. My thoughts are higher than your own. I own the universe! I'll fly to the moon tomorrow and I'll throw the moon at your house! I merely created you! I created you in a pixar movie animation. You're NOTHING! You know what I'm saying? You mean NOTHING. I can't care to piss on your retarded mom's pussy comment. I don't give a fuck!:
This guy is a total genius, and deserves to be the one in the spotlight over the guys from Mighty Boosh. Don't get me wrong, I like their show, but it's nothing compared to the stuff Holness brings out
Remember thought that noel felding is a sort of sex symbol to girls in Britain which can boost them over these guys regardless to the fact that these guys are better comedians.
I found Darkplace hilarious to start with, but the reason why it's not so famous is that it drags on at points, it doesn't keep the audience entertained with ongoing jokes, so that's why it's not particularly popular. Regardless I found it a great parody of 80s television. And all the darkplace fanatics, don't give me a hundred thumbs down for saying anything slightly critical about it, it's good, and I enjoyed it, but I can see why alot of people wouldn't
@abetrasken - I know what you mean about the dragging on parts (and it does) but the good parts make up for it 100-fold.
I put Darkplace in my Top 3 series of all time, along with The Office (UK). Might even make that Top 2, because at the moment I can't think of third that's in the same league.
I love the way that all art is subjective, and nobody seems to mind saying that something is "shit" because they don't like it. I love Darkplace, and Man to Man, and the Boosh is great too, I don't like 'dinnerladies' though, but far be it from me to say it's shit. I just don't like it, or find it funny, and its... well.. shit basically.
these two are awesome, here in Britain is where the best comedy in the world is produced, personally I think darkplace and man to man were miles better than the mighty boosh, which is way overated
thank you! finally somebody else who doesn't find the mighty boosh hilarious! i've watched a couple of episodes of the mighty boosh and personally thought it was pretty rubbish the comedy was just pathetic lol
when I saw someone had replied, I was expecting it to be a boosh loving idiot, moaning about how awesome it is. Boosh suck's I struggle to smirk at the comedy.
totally agree lol i've only ever laughed at it once and it was when that guy with hair was doing an impression of a turtle eating a jelly snake lol but the rest i just find pretty rubbish
they are MILES better than the mighty boosh, but these darkplace and man to man are very underarted.
the boosh does have some inspired moments but is not as consitantly funny as darkplace and man to man, also i have to admit i'm in love with the moon from the mighty boosh, i will watch a whole episode just for the moon.
I love both Darkplace and Boosh. Could it possibly - but NO! - be a matter of *taste*? Something isn't bad just because you don't happen to like it. ;)
To be honest I think Boosh first series is heads above anything else they've ever done and is definitely as clever as Darkplace. Man to man was a little patchy, I felt, not sure if it was quite up to Darkplace standard. Good character acting though.
more meriman weir plz mathew. and randolph. everyone must watch man to man with dean learner. 1-6. and dark place 1-6. dreamweaver visionary bitchkiller!!!
Listen to Bert Jansch - The Gardener, you can find it here on the tube. no doubt inspired this song lol

@Hozzas - You're selling Julian Barratt a bit short here imo.
I'm a big Boosh fan, and I love the vicar he plays in Darkplace as well. He delivers a couple of the funniest lines I've heard ... ever, anywhere.
Do you know that Noel features in Darkplace too? Not an easy one to pick, but it's him ;)
Skindoggiedog 2 years ago
@Skindoggiedog Sorry, I know. I was lacking in Julian love, and I do love him ^o^

"Sometimes he'll come in at an angle"
That's arguably the funniest line I've ever heard. Ever.
Did you pick where Noel appears in Darkplace?

@Skindoggiedog
Is he the ape in the bike chase in Apes of Wrath? I sat and watched my DVD's until I saw him after your comment :P

@Hozzas
Bingo! If you listen, you can recognize it's him too.
Good job, buddy!
