Wow... impressed with how well they handle today's squashed audio... that's a heckova competitive sound! I'd also forgotten the signature high-frequency sound of a Gentner... it makes this stuff sound pretty darn good! Thanks for sharing this demo.
@NightAire Ur welcome.. I do prefer the older Texar units. The originals although they share the same design, they are quite different in sound Genter used different capacitors in timing, filter and x-over
I worked in a station in Maryland that had a pair of the Prisms in the studio. When I was on the air, I'd love to dim the lights down and watch the LED's. Always thought they were way cool. I believe they are still using them, and if they are, that would be 21 years of continual service.
@BudWiser999 not all true. Gentners builded them better. the PCB' s were better, power supply's more stable, but they had a different sound. Gentner used cheaper capacitors in the filter designs..
I just picked up an 8100A/1 - it has the RCF-1 card in it so now I am hunting for the Prisms that were driving it! It's great to see how many people still love the analog sound of these units.
I first installed a pair of these in 1992! Now I'm trying to find a decent second hand pair. Love the TRUE analog sound, and those LEDs - well, what can I say except "EPIC COOL".

Nothing beats the warm thump of The Prisms. Very well done. I'd add a thick dusting of long- trail reverb and perhaps some more thump/clipping.
