i kinda stopped asking steam tech support because they were giving me the most retarded solutions ive ever heard of.. apparently their system indicates that the problem is a connection error

If you still have the problem delete steam including games and install (ALL) again. Hope it works.

If you delete it totally and correct and you install it again it should work :)

I've gotten the same error as well, tried all I could see and a few methods of my own.

i've already contacted steam

and they havent gave me a solution that

actually changed anything

1 Right-click the game in steam

2 Select properties

3 Go to the "Local Files" tab

4 Click "Verify integrity of game cache..."

5 After that's done, try running the game.

6 If problem persists, rename your game folder (c:/program files/steam/steamapps/[YOUR NAME]/counterstrike) to something else, then start the game.

7. At that point, steam will rebuild the folder.

It should work after that.

alright, first download the file off the net (this is the hardest part) move it to the C:\windows\system32 dierectory and type this in run and do it

regsvr32 \windows\system32\filesystem_s­team.dll

(there is no space bewteen the ends of the line) and if it tells you to do it to any others do the same thing hope i helped
