They are trying to find the pitch because the guitar and keys weren't playing the same thing together. Also, listen to right after wayne says "I'm gonna find myself a guy", listen to the music... they aren't playing in the same key. The band messed this up. Which makes Brad say "the band's had a little too much to drink".
