Looks great! I MUST fly there oneday! I just cant stop thinking how cool it would be to screem in and slide along on that snow with some skis or something on landing?
Get someone to place a sled or something in the LZ, you can land on it and slide along :)
Great video as always. Tell me one thing - for example at 0:30 - how do you know that you will make it to the LZ and not end up somewhere in the woods? I mean you have to know glide ratio of the glider quite well to make decisions. Is this something that one learns during high flying practice?
@ppawelppawel Thanks Paweł! In that particular case, I had a fallback (further back) that was low enough to make it in any case (it wasn't risky at all). I knew about that from fellow pilots and a previous flight. I adjusted my course as I got closer to the hill, the distance turned out to be sufficient for a more direct route. One key aspect of high flights is practicing altitude estimation and decision making. It all takes time - I still tend to underestimate the Space glide ratio :)
@Carbonkiwi Thanks! GoPro fogging got me this time around. It's still acceptable (could have been worse) but annoying nonetheless. Are you still using your GoPro or is the Drift your camera of choice now (as a result of your comparison)?
looks like fun
