Playing against the veteran bots teaches you how to camp, that's all... there's no other way to beat them when they can do insta-180-headshot-wallbangs.

Hardened is the closest thing to online gameplay, and a recent patch made the bots more human-like, because before, they would never climb ladders, or use killstreaks.
