The rest of its technology is Spanish.

Spain built this ship for Norway after specifications from the norwegian navy. The navy decided how they wanted it build. The main weapon systems are made in Norway, as well as other components. Like NSM. We need a different kind of ship due to the artic climate. The ships need to operate with heavy ice on deck etc.

And our goverment got the cheapest deal in Spain, would have costed allot more if a norwegian company had built them or a german.

And like i said, the ships will be armed with some of the best, if not the best, missils in the world, the NSM.

But he told me at canons is on the way out, the canon is just to use in close comat. Take a look at the US navy they are designing navy ship for the future some have only rockets and hellicopters.

Ser ut som en AA-kanon (Noe den sikkert også kan brukes som). Gjør den i det heletatt noe skade på større skip? Inbiller meg at kulene preller av på godt pansrede skip. Nå har ikke jeg peiling på dette, så korrekt meg.

Brukes nok mer mot ubåter i overflate eller som blokadeskip. Mot større overfartsfartøyer har man misslier og topedoer. Mot fly er nok kommandostrukturen for ildgivning ALTFOR langsom, men skipet har en utmerket funksjonalitet som kystvaktfartøy, noe det jo også primært er tenkt som.

If you are after something to support landing ops, then go for the bigger 127mm, but if you are looking for additional anti air, cruise missile defence, anti hispeed suicide boats, etc, then the 120 rpm of the 76 takes a lot of beating, there is also a guided shell available. Good all rounder the 76.

well... You are only partly right, the frigates are built in Spain but its an all Norwegian design so its kinda 65% Spanish engineering and 35% Norwegian engineering.

Haha no the Russian fishing boats arent that panzered, however I just preffere the 127mm gun (5inches) or 100mm guns for that size of ships. Like the "De Zeven Provinciën" class (!27mm OTO-BREDA gun) wpn config insted of the "Sachsen" wpn config. But just for hunting small fishingboats it is not needed though.

Søk på 'Battleship Missouri Gulf War Guns' og se noen skikkelige kanoner. 16 tommer og et treff av en slik og jeg tror KNM Fridiof Nansen sliter seriøst.

Tror de har en rekkevidde på over 3.6km og granaten har en vekt på ca 40kg. Nok til og trenge gjennom 30-40 cm panserstål.

et stort skudd er ikke nødvendig vis hva som er bra, du kan ha små skudd som gjør samme nytten, siden den er liten så har den bedre aerodynamikk og kan trenge lengere inn i skroget, så lenge den har nokk kraft, mens ved liten kraft er det store kuler som er tingen
