The car already had a great looking remote but they then have a regular key to start the car. This is why I'm not very interested in hyundais because they just don't take the more reasonable configure the cars. I like the price for hyundais but it's just the way they design them that makes me want spend an extra 3-4k for something else

as much as i love the asian big 4. Hyundai has by far come the farthest the sonata and elantra are top of there classes. And the Equus is a lexus Ls for 6 grand cheaper. if you compare the equus to a Mercedes S class its insane how over priced Mercedes is.

The US model is amazing compared to what we get here in Australia. Our version only has a 5-speed auto, 3.8L with 260 hp! Our stereo is 8 speakers, not 12, and we don't get the option of a sunroof at all, nor GPS. We don't have indicators in the mirrors either. Of course, there's no XM radio in Australia, on any car, and no rear sunshade either.

I thought you were dissing the brand as a whole, they are my new favorite due to the amount they've improved. But yeah, this car is pretty bad, it is old though, I think they started this model as the 05 year, so started making them in 04. It does have a very nice radio though. I love how balanced it all is.

tsk, i love hyundais, but i really don't like the interior of the azera. it doesn't seem very integrated. there's too much going on at the same time. swathes of beige leather, chrome and wood are nice, but then there is pretty fake brushed aluminium and blue LEDs. the wood doesn't seem to flow from the front to the back, and alot of the details like head unit placement just seem out of place.

its still one of the comfiest cars i've ever sat in though. the back seat is amazing.

True, but you've got to remember that the Azera was released a few years before the Genesis and according to Hyundai, since the new Sonata only comes with a 4 cylinder, the Azera is supposed to be for those people who insist on having a 6 cylinder. Who knows if it'll work out that way though?

The Genesis is a more upscale entry level Rear wheel Drive Luxury sedan with a V6 or 4.6 v8 or 5.0 v8 up to 430hp

Rumor has it that Hyundai is working on a 5.5L Supercharged, just a rumor but the 5.0 was also a rumor and now its here.

This is why Hyundai needs a dedicated luxury brand, like Lexus to Toyota. The Genesis stole all the sales from this because they seem to compete with each other. If this was positioned as an Avalon/Taurus competitor and the Genesis in a different brand as a Lexus/Mercedes competitor then it may sell better.

Its in dire need of a redesign and its quite boring to look at and I drove an 09 model when enterprise had them, they are quite boring to drive as well. Smooth i guess which is what the old ppl like but a snooze-fest for the gen X and Y buyers.

@fvgotch I like the 2012 redesign images I've seen so far, but I just think that the interior too closely resembles the Sonata. With the 2012 new design, that will be three Hyundai vehicles with closely related "fluidic sculpture" styling (Sonata, Elantra, and Azera). Just my two cents :-)

I think the new Hyundai designs are very nice, but having all cars looking almost identical makes those designs which originally looked pretty cool start to look boring and overused. The new Azera's interior looks extremely similar to the Sonata's and I think Hyundai should have done a better job making the Azera stand out and maybe make the interior a lil bit more "luxurious" rather than the sporty look of the Sonata.

I notice a pattern with Hyundai when it comes to redesigns and facelifts. Whenever they give a facelift to a model like this Azera, they have the next generation of that model ready to go within the next year. Kind of a neat pattern with Hyundai. Like giving a clue. They did it with the Sonata, the Tucson, Elantra, and even this Azera. They released a teaser video for the new Azera. If you think this one is nice Kyle, wait till you see the next one. There's talk on a new Santa Fe too.
