H.R. Giger specializes in dark art, he was asked to do advertisement for a stereo company (I don't remember which one, but it might have been Panasonic); and he did the Alien science fiction movie artwork for it, totally inappropriate to sell the latest music machine. Anyway, H.R. Giger fulfills the monster movie mythology America has been seeing since the 1970s.
Like the music choice, if only for the fact that MaSu heavily use the SID chip!
These tunes remind of games like Katakis, Cybernoid, Turrican and others on the C64 which had some very "gigerish" levels or enemies or other design elements with this biomechanic look.

Either we want it or not, the movie had to have a "general acceptance", was targeting a wide audience....and in the 80s decade (just for Alien 1). I believe that there should be an Alien 4 now, yes, Sigourne Weaver got old, but the graphics technology went far. If they could build a nice scenario...

Quake 4's Stroggs at the Stroggos planet are more closer to his ideals than the Borgs of Star Trek. Maybe they have to adopt Giger graphics for Quake 5, if they decide to release it.
