Top idea. But im yet to discover the reason why closed cell para-gliders aren't used. I mean combine this tech with the closed cell tech of say the Flysurfer speed 3 traction kite and you just about end up with a rigid wing with little chance for collapse.
@LigerZer077 The biggest issue would be pressure changes with altitude, but I've wondered if it would be possible to use rods that extend the length of paraglider for better collapse resistance.
overshoot will be the next new problem, a new breaking system will be needed.

@LigerZer077 because they wouldn't collapse anymore => so they would overshoot - which is even worse!
