Has anybody noticed a pattern emerging with these stories? You never hear of an inner city haunting it's always out in the countryside or in "a small village somewhere". Weird.

I shrugged it off. That night something had woken me up at about 2AM. NOTHING wakes me up. I'm a really deep sleeper. ANd here i was randomly awake. I then heard heavy footsetps coming up the stairs and getting louder. Like someone was wearing huge heavy boots. THUD THUD THUD......

BY this time i'm crapping myself and sweating buckets, i stayed under the blanket the whole time. (I was about 11/12). I could hear heavy breathing right over me. It sounded real, not like Darth Vader breathing, definitely human and very heavy. It the suddenly stopped. And i fell alseep about an hour later. Was very disturbing.

@123spiritseeker Agreed, I recently read up on this, and experienced a milder form of this myself, just slight movements of objects around me but a loud voice in my head. Not pleasant at all.

People who think they are haunted: sit down, think about it, realise it's all in your head or due to a rational explanation. I had a "ghost" experience once, I was sitting there and I heard scratching and screaming. turns out there were mice in the walls and a scream is the noise a fox (a nice reasonably common british animal) makes.

as for 9 people being mistaken, it's eniterly possible. for example, far more than 9 people have thought that flying birds were alien saucers come to invade.

Feeling nervous in a house? not uncommon, When i'm alone in my house I sometimes get the "being watched" feeling. noises? things fall, people knock things over, houses creak. odd electronics? faulty machines.
and this is without going into the group psychology of humans, where if one person acts wierd around a certain area others will find it scary as well.

@Iseedeadppll That is true, but I feel a bit confused about how fear being irrational has anything to do with the existance of ghosts. We have known for a long time that humans are irrational, best example is the existance of faith (defined as: belief in something without support of evidence)
and it may be general, but that list can discount almost all ghost stories.

People who think they are haunted: sit down, think about it, realise it's all in your head or due to a rational explanation. I had a "ghost" experience once, I was sitting there and I heard scratching and screaming. turns out there were mice in the walls and a scream is the noise a fox (a nice reasonably common british animal) makes.

as for 9 people being mistaken, it's eniterly possible. for example, far more than 9 people have thought that flying birds were alien saucers come to invade.

Feeling nervous in a house? not uncommon, When i'm alone in my house I sometimes get the "being watched" feeling. noises? things fall, people knock things over, houses creak. odd electronics? faulty machines.
and this is without going into the group psychology of humans, where if one person acts wierd around a certain area others will find it scary as well.

@Iseedeadppll That is true, but I feel a bit confused about how fear being irrational has anything to do with the existance of ghosts. We have known for a long time that humans are irrational, best example is the existance of faith (defined as: belief in something without support of evidence)
and it may be general, but that list can discount almost all ghost stories.
