It's a shame that crap of 90's like Alice in Chains, Sheryl Crow, Hootie & the Blowfish, Creed, the Offspring, Counting Crows, Sarah McLachlan, etc. made it big and the Grays didn't.
@55westend That is Jon Brion on bass. He is a record producer has has worked with Fiona Apple and Kanye West among others. He also did the soundtrack for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. He is also an awesome guitarist and piano player. Check him out on YouTube.
One of my favorite bands of the 90's . Along with The Jayhawks, Black Crowes, Jellyfish, Posies and Urge Overkill, The Grays took music from the 60's and 70's and updated it in an original way.
@shiznicks74 What do you mean ruined 2 bands?? ... he gave so much love and soul to Jellyfish and The Grays and is still good friends with most of the guys from each band. Jellysfish's break up came some time after Jason was on another track ..... as sad as the end of Jellyfish was! (we still mourn to this day!) He and Roger Manning are also 2 of the nicest and most genuine guys in the industry.
Gotta say one of the BEST albums of all time. Saw them open for Meat Puppets and Cracker in Philly. Also had a shirt on in a Venice Beach bar, O Briens, when a band member approached me and asked if I would sell it. Said NO WAY!
@billyatown91 wow i thought when i saw soul coughing open up for sunny day real estate and shudder to think, that was the ultimate, but i might have traded lineups with you. radical
It took me three years to figure out what this ong was called and who sings it.. i first saw it on Beavis and Butthead but they didnt credit the video in the clip it plaed in... the only thing i went on was the "dododododdo" the Beavis sang.. aka the part that everyone love at 0:45 i love these guys for this songg <3 this is the "very best {day}.."
@ElysianFeilds If you ever hear a song you don't recognize that you heard on B&B, you can look for the B&B episode guide, they usually list the names of the videos shown, even if they aren't listed in the actual video.
@ElysianFeilds Yeah, me too. I saw it on Beavis & Butthead had to track it down. I can't believe that these guys weren't a lot more successful, because this is a truly great song.

I beat this cassette to death in the car and in my walkman jogging. I finally got to the point, though to where I didn't consider track 2 a rip off of Badfinger.
I totally agree with what you said concerning 0:45....i first heard this song in Toronto in '91 when they were doing a live radio broadcast...i never forgot the melody, and kept it with me until I found this video about 2 years ago..
I've been listening to music for over 30 years, and this has the best bridge I've ever heard. The entire song is great, but that sudden change/buildup at 0:45 is what sells it for me
If you can find it, this is a terrific album. Seriously

@shiznicks74 Do you mean The Grays & Jellyfish? I've read many remarks about how nice a guy Jason was. I'd love to hear details.

This band was one of the most unrewarded, unrecognized of the '90s, and it's not fair.
