You can feel the effect of g's in your car, turn really fast one way or the other and you get some(very little) G force. Its not that big of a deal because of the plain of motion that you are moving through. Pulling G's in the Y axis(up and down) is a lot different. Positive G like they are pulling will make it difficult for blood to reach your brain, Hence the blacking out, that is why they strain and breath in gasps, to keep from blacking out, they also wear inflatable suits to help, G suits
