@DJDanielPeterson. Viva hate was good,and its follow up was just ok.When I hear his stuff now Its way more akin to a sing along track and not only do the melodies fall way short but the lyrics are dumbed way down.I really dug the Smiths (saw them six times) and was borderline fanatical. I dont dig strangeways either, Its too produced.I have pondered the mans creative slide for many years and its my opinion that the songs written by Marr were the catalyst for his genius: And hes rich now.

@DJDanielPeterson My final point was: He is rich and has hundreds of thousands of people that adore him, he cant emote the way he did when he wrote " Reel around the fountain" Well i wonder" and "Half a person" This confirms he was calling it as he saw it then. As bummed out as i am that he sucks now, I still feel a huge connection to his previous work. Morrisey/Marr was as good as it gets,... better.

@DJDanielPeterson Agreed. One has to take the Smiths in doses as Morrissey was waaaaaaaay whinier back then. Great catalogue of hits, don't get me wrong. Pound for pound though, he's put out better tunes with his solo work (granted he's also put out more singles as well).

I think its the recording. I've seen that band live and they are great. He sounds so much like Morrissey, he captures the whole audience. He even gets the infamous huggers rushing the stage.

i have seen alot of cover bands and i think that this the best cover band i have ever seen live. i got in moz late in life so i never seen the smiths, and this is the closet i could get to seeing them. how many time in a year can you see the real moz live i caught the guys a few time s this year already. they do really cool things at their show, like celebrate his b day every year and they do shows where they play an entire album cause the record turned 20 or something like that
