on the demo version of Mr. Speed the solo guitar lines are played by Bob Kulick....not Ace nor Eddie..and the track is from Rock and Roll over not from Love gun as some of you said
van halen only! played a demo version of christine sixteen! that song sucks anyways so who cares! and the got love for sale solo IS ACE! its him doing that little A minor dorian scale that he has used on so many songs!
I have to believe that Ace was present for most of the Rock and Roll over and Love Gun recordings being that they were albums both produced by Eddie Kramer. Ace and Eddie got along great and really worked well together.

This sounds more like an out take than a demo. The album version had Eddie Van Halen on lead guitar and Alex on drums(as did most of Love Gun.) The story is that Ace was on his honeymoon and Peter was, well Peter.
One thhing that is real is that Gene wanted to fire Ace & Peter and replace them with the Van Halens. Paul and Bill Aucoin had to talk him out of it.
You clearly have never read the articles about KISS that I have involving this era of the band. In 1991 Paul admitted that the VanHalen's played on most of the LoveGun album; the article was in reference to the LP Smashes, Thrashes, and Hits. Paul was discussing wjy he did the remixing on many of the old classics.
You can also find a reference to my comments in the book KISS and Sell by C.K. Lendt, who was KISS' tour manager in the 70's.
@mrjeopardy65 eddie played the christine sixteen demo only! if he did play on the actual love gun album songs it must have been the sucky ones because ACE PLAYED shock me hooligan and some parts of almost human and the tomorrow and tonight and got love for sale solos! and the second half of i stole your love!
alex may be a better drummer than peter but NO ONE can replicate his sound. Eddie is the shit, but again, he aint ace. Ace wasnt about all that technical bullshit
have to look into that one, seems like a stretch. why would vanhalen play on these records with no credit? you would think them guys would be screamin about it at the time, hoping to get street cred for that shit back in the day.
Mr Jeapoardy, you are a fuckin moron....this is ace playing...not Van Halen...anyone can tell that...BTW Van Halen played on Got Love for Sale and a couple other Love Gun songs...that was all.
dude,1st of all this is from rock n roll over and the van halens r certainly NOT on Love Gun.The band has stated many times that Love Gun was the last album w/ all members on it alone
Cool Efect ;)

@mrjeopardy65 Look at the name of the album the song is from: is it "Rock and Roll Over" or "Love Gun"? You don't need to read a magazine to do that.
I take anything Gene and Paul say with a huge grain of salt.
