For all those who argue Dio vs Ozzy: go try Blind Guardian and their lead singer (songs are pmuch similar to what Dio wrote, btw).

Hansi Kursch beats all Black Sabbath singers in terms of vocals range and power. But that doesn't mean that I have to stop listening Ozzy or Dio.

Before you flame me, keep in mind that i love them all (including Ian Gillan, excluding Martin). Just don't say that "he was the only one".

I think great singers come down to individula taste. for example i find dio much more passionate in his vocals than kursch, therefore I tend to prefer dio

but im curious, why do you exclude martin? he was a very good singer and fit the 80's sabbath sound well

Same individual taste. Martin seems a bit too much gay. He is artistic but not passionate, he plays role instead of living it. He is good, but all other Sabbath singers were at completely another level, imo.

Btw, check Blind Guardian live records. Those are quite passionate xD

Ozzy sabbath was the original no doubt about that, but Dio sabbath was more of a team, ozzy sabbath was more of gezzer and tonny as everyone knows that ozzy was the most fucked up of them all, thats why he got fired from the band.. just saying!

@MetalkingDio No doubt Ozzy was messed up from drugs and booze, but there is also no doubt he was as much responsible for the success of Black Sabbath as Bill, Geezer and Tony. Everyone has their favorite lineup, mine happens to be the original. That doesn't mean I don't love the Dio lineups and the magic and mystique that Dio brought to the group. It deeply saddens me that I never got to see him live....PS Love him in Rainbow as well
