Warren's antics WERE directed at Vespi because Vespi wasn't well liked when he came out on tour in '92. He came out with an attitude. Warren was pointing directly at Vespi.
WOW! I have this whole show on videotape! A great performance by Warren. The reason I do have it is because the tape broke AFTER I recorded it and never got around to fixing until years later when I dubbed it onto another tape. Cool!
@monkeeman1966 I bowl out of this house, have since 1986, the day it opened. We had the Florida Open in 1991 as well, do you have that by chance? If so, my copies are dead, I would love to have them again, I was in the audience for both.
@showtimeman5673 Hi Man! I am sorry, this Chris Warren show is the only one I have. There was nothing like working all day Saturday then coming home at 5pm and watching it on my VCR. Nelson and Chris were the best. Also, I prefer bowling in the house rather than arena bowling. I used to go to the Greater Hartford Open in Windsor Locks during the week in the late '80s to watch these guys.
wow. memory flash. i remember that vespi dude. looks to me like he got up on purpose during warren's tenth frame. warren's reaction was a bit over the top. warren was just on tv earlier tonight. didn't realize about jimmy keeth :( how and when?
I remember this...Vespi did have an attitude back then. Not many people liked him on tour. I do know the reason he got up was he thought Chris only needed two strikes and the game was over.
biggest crybaby should go to mike devaney.hes a cool guy but when he bowls bad he just finds any exscuse he can (bowled on same lane as him at the stockon regional)
chris warren is not cocky and he is the best sport i have ever met, i've known him for 7 years, he dosnt even come close to what all you guys are sayin bout him
i don't know chris, but followed the tour, and chris was always a gentlemen that i can remember......great in the clutch too as he showed here. vespi was just kinda a spaz, ( but some of his getting up might have been intentional to get chris out of his routine ) so chris had every right to act the way he did. my guess is there might have been a history between these 2. chris sure threw a strong ball for such a little guy. i always admired his game and heart...
After Warren gets the strike in the 11th, Vespi gets up, and Warren tells him to sit down...that much is a fact. I strongly do believe Warren's shouting was directed at Vespi.
you kinda cant blame warren for telling him to sit down...he needed 8 to win after that and he probably wanted alll the walking room he can get in that high of a pressure sistuation....a person changed when hes going for a title and big money
I'm not sure Warren was taunting Vespi...it's hard to tell with this angle. He could have been just shouting to someone in the crowd. But there wasn't a handshake. Not the classiest reaction in the world, but throwing three strikes in the tenth to win is a rush, I know that.
YEAH! You tell em squeaks!

I remember watching that when it happened, I didn't like vespi, and it was a classic ending.

I don't like Warren too much. I remember watching him a couple times back in the 90's, he was too cocky and not a good sport.
