For everyone who is confused about this... it is INDEED saying, "Manna is a hell of a drug". Do some research, people. Manna is the name of an edible substance that God provided for the Israelites during their travels in the desert according to the Bible. Also, it is referenced to mean, "any divine or spiritual food," "any sudden or unexpected help, advantage, or aid to success," and if you use the old spelling, it refers directly to a higher power or benevolent force found in a person's head.

This song is about his pregnant wife dying in a fatal car crash. In his lyrics he talks about him trying to convince himself she's alive when she died in the crash, how he cried when he knew she was dead, restless nights because he's traumatized, and feeling selfish because he could have died and glad he didn't. "I could tell it was over from the curtains that hung from your neck." That basically means he knew she was dead when she was put in that white bed/bag paramedics put dead people in.

In case you have not yet been told (because I'm too lazy to check the comments :P) "Laden" is a real word meaning "heavily loaded or weighed down". So "I'm laden with a selfish fear" works and that's honestly what I hear. Also, I just looked at the sidebar and found out where I first heard this song...Gossip Girl. I am so happy I figured that out and now it won't bother me. So I had to rant about it. Sorry :P Awesome video. I think you got a lot right. Love the song :)

if u really listen and read the lyrics, im guessing its about the guy who couldnt get drugs out of his life, and how he ended up in his own little world and completely ignored his friends and family, including the wife (im assuming its the wife) . So he was so into his world that he did not realize how much he hurt his wife and at one point, she killed herself out of dissappointment and anger. Its a really sad song. and he did not kill himself. the wife did, while carrying his child.
