Honestly, this live performance falls flat. Mike Patton has an amazing vocal range, but he can't do multiple voices at once, among other things. It doesn't compare to the album version. But that's the baddest shit is that the crowd knows that lyrics.
Love the look on Patton's face at 2:49. It's like he's surprised that his home country (where they never really got the recognition they deserved) knows the lyrics to an underrated song from an underrated album.
Very, very, VERY few bands get better with age. Faith No More is one of those select few.
What a boring fucking crowd listening to an awesome band playing one of their most awesome songs. i have never had the pleasure of seeing FNM live and seeing them waste it angers me.
ok, no one's said anything but...have u noticed that Patton's wearing the exact same red outfit no matter where FNM sang on his 2009-10 tour across the globe? Ok, did he have like 20 outfits of the same or had his suit drycleaned after ea concert? I know this has nothing to do w/his music, but as a fashion bug, I love the outfit...& so does he...apparently, & it looks great on him. & why does the guy on keys move so much when he plays? Looks silly, but would be worse just standing still, guess.
I cant fucking believe they do a reunion tour of 75 shows, 64 which were out of country. I love these guys but come on assholes. Show some gratitude for the fans that springboarded you to stardom and supported you through the small club dates in mid to late 90's. And dont tell me that there was not enough demand around the states. People would have lined up. I guess theres more money involved internationally. Sad day. I lost alot of respect for these guys.
@gekkomatic He can still sing on high pitches, but his voice is more mature now, he was on his early twenties during the nineties, he still had some teenager voice. You can still see high pitches on his other works, but he is using some obscure vocals on faith no more since King For a Day, Fool For a Lifetime.
@Dr666Dreadlokz he's exactly my age you dick! Ok, I forsee you in ur mid-40''s [he's 43], & some squrrely kid's gonna crack some comment about how OLD u r & ur gonna shit ur pants. lol
You can still here the crowd singing the chorus through all them muse fans. I didn't expect that many people to know the words at a place like Coachella but it was really nice!
The best part of this show was me and a dude screaming 'THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GET FUCKED' right before the heavy part of Caffeine comes in. Most of the Muse fans were wondering what the fuck was going on, but at least some of them got into it. Or at least were forced to.
@camironcha Dear God. The crowd just wasn't as enormous as most other festivals they play; mostly because the stage doesn't permit a big, massive audience. Granted, a lot of those people were just there to see Muse; but the ENTIRE crowd got into FNM. The reactions they got were fucking phenominal, and everyone talked about their gig as one of the performances of the entire festival, if not THE best.
Mike and the guys were great as usual, but the audience has to be one of the lamest I have ever seen. Check out the videos from the Southamerican tour that FNM did last year, pick any of the shows they did in Argentina or Chile and you'll see the difference... Even Mike seemed bored yesterday.
I expected a little more enthusiasm from the people, I mean, is fucking Faith No More you guys! I can't believe people didn't even sing the chorus on Midlife crisis!!!
@rockforchoicee, I agree. I mean, come on people! But for some reason, American audiences don't respond the same at concerts as do people in Europe & S. America. There, people are jumping up & down and screaming the lyrics. We are a sedate people, apparently.
@rockforchoicee Why do you think there's no U.S. tour? These fuckin McDonald's eating Nike wearing fucking idiots wouldn't know good music if it fucked their mother in the ass.
@Paction78 Yep, and meanwhile there's a strong rumor that FNM will be back in Southamerica by the end of 2010 to close the Second Coming Tour (which would be awesome cause we'd get to see them twice in less than a year).
It is sad though that they seem to be appreciated everywhere but in their own country...
@rockforchoicee I must say that is bull shit, at least from where I was standing. We all sand our fucking asses off the entire show. This webcast didn't capture any of the energy or power of the show, from either the band or the crowd.
@kanajun thanks for the reply...I am sure it will surface somewhere.Saw PiL 3 times now and they are excellent..this show looked awesome.Faith no More I saw last August as well..top bands
