Uhhh.. Yes it does. The shape and feel of the guitar is one of the biggest factors. You have to have a guitar that is comfortable in your hands. I myself HATE Les pauls. The neck is WAYY to fat and rounded. It's just annoying. However, I LOVE Schecter Hellraisers. They're perfect for me, and they really improve the quality of my playing.

Fuck you, you don't know what you're talking about. I just say he's still good and I've heard all his acoustic stuff. And I'm not a new fan, I've probably listened to him just as long as you. And that is a ton distortion, and distortion does cover some mistakes, doesn't mean he's a bad player. I saw him live and thats just the way i see it.
