When people make the argument that certain courses are pointless or useless, I enjoy listening to a full explanation. I notice most folks never use, "they don't train you to think critically" as justification. Yes, some courses "seem" pointless and useless, but it doesn't mean they are. I've found that I use less than 10% of the math I've learned (in college) in every day life, but I find that I still enjoy solving algebraic equations because of the process. Learning to process is cool man.

You don't need a degree to be an artist, but I went to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh to sharpen my skills, and my parents thought it was a quality college. They charge MORE for their majors than an average university charges for the same damn thing! The community college here charges about 50 grand LESS for graphic design than what AiP charged and none of the Ai credits are transferable to any school except another Ai. Many colleges are just like this one, sadly. :/
