Not seen this before. Yes, Bid looks like Ian Astbury but he still looks great. Only Lester and Andy could have rescued this, and they played magnificently.
The new members of the band here (drummer/rhythm guitarist) look a bit Wanky, but it's a great version, and of course Andy, Lester and Bid still look cool ..... Though how cool as fuck was Andy Warren ! the coolest bass player on the planet !!!
Oh, my gosh. Whatever happened to his wonderful hair, his sweet clothes and charming voice? He looks like someone out of Guns'n'Roses! I'm still in love with him though.
I agree with the single version but beg to differ on Bid's looks - what is it that drives a guy that was the pinnacle of cool in his 20s and 30s to turn into someone wearing tight leather pants and a top from agent provocateur when pushing 40 (well today he's close to 50)???
Hold on - he would have been no more than 33 or 34 when this was filmed in the early 90's, and speaking as a female fan of the band - it certainly worked for me!
I agree, not a patch on their earlier versions. But Lester does managed to work the old magic. Trivia info, I believe 'Frank' is Fad Gadget. I saw the Set play many times in the 79-81, great live band, very tight. Stopped listening to them after 'Love Zombies'.
The Kid, too ... watched them a couple of times ... once with Swell Maps ... which was an odd experience ... Bits of 'Eligible Bachelors' are ... actually ... quite good ... ditto moments on 'The Lost Weekend' ... otherwise ... nothing to ... write home ... about ...
Thanks, one of my fave post punk bands and sorely unknown and underappreciated. Thank God for Lester -- w/out him this flabby version of a crisp classic would be, well, really flabby.
I prefer james Foster.

You could all "fashionistas" concentrate in Monochrome Set's music..it's a music video...not a catwalk...

Bid looks as if he is stoned in this clip, and his voice cracks near the end. Lester is what makes this piece what it is! Thank goodness for Lester.
